Okay, so I bought a new weapon for my battle pet and added it to the armory. I went in to try and edit it into my existing set but even though I keep dragging it into the row with the others (making sure it isn't going past the 8th slot) It just won't stick and stay in there. I do go to the bottom and click "edit set" when I'm done to save the position and it doesn't work. I even tried just straight up creating a whole new set and the set was "created" but none of the weapon selections stuck in there.

Anyone have any insight as to why this is happening? I'm getting confused and a tad frustrated. Thanks.

When you go to edit your sets, you should see check boxes underneath all of your weapons. You have to have them checked to be able to add them to the set, and then you should be able to rearrange them how you want.

Omg I am so silly! I didn't even notice that check box! That fixed the problem, thank you so much for your help!
