You will need to split up your teams for the storyline (although you may all work together on the challenges) and put at least one member in with the "civilians," one or more to the cauldron with Irella, and at least one into the battle squads with Tanaka of Djoni. You should create a BRIEF RP designating who is doing what.

((((((This topic is for the ACTUAL roleplay for this chapter.)))))))

((((((Some of us need to roleplay joining the civilian group hiding away in Madi' bedroom.))))))) ((((((Some of us need to go out to prepare for battle against the rogue vampires and werewolves.))))))) ((((((Some of us need to join the gypsies to try to prepare a potion to save the Coppelia-zombies.)))))))

T((((((he roleplay should be brief. We only need to break into the groups, and maybe briefly mention starting to work on the puzzles. This should not be in-depth or include our solutions. BEFORE we start the roleplay, we should probably figure out who is going to go where, based on our skills... I opened a separate chat board for that: DISCUSSION OF ROLES)))))))

What we have:

Roleplay The members of Squirrel Tales stood around the cauldron, watching and commenting as those good at potions and magic spoke up here and there, adding their knowledge to the brew being mixed. Not everyone had much to add, however. When Izzy and Pugsy arrived, announcing the danger from the werewolves and vampires, Raine thought she could detect a hint of relief in the eyes of at least a few of their crew.

"A battle plan," Raine repeated after Tanaka. "We should probably send two or three SquirrelTales along with Djoni and Lysandra... And Dahlia, I'm sorry, but as our bard... I think we need to get you somewhere safe. Why don't you go with Clytie, and Larianne and the others? And maybe one of our more battle-ready members will go with you, to help keep the bunch of you safe? I think I'll stay put here. I know a fair bit about magic from my travels and... umm... other things, so I might be of the most use here. But who wants to fight, and who wants to go with Dahlia, and is there anyone else who wants to stay with me, working on this potion?"

"I can fill in where ever," Max commented. "Though, personally..." Max pulled his waistcoat to the side to reveal a pistol secured to the inside. "I might be best out there. I am a sharp shooter on my home world, and very little can happen to me being undead."

Dahlia frowned, "I cannot simply sit by and wait while that poor girl is in danger." Witnessing the Coppelia being manipulated in such a way had left Dahlia with a horrible feeling in her gut. While Raine might be right, she knew that she would never rest being cooped up inside when she might be able to offer some help in breaking whatever trance the Coppelia was under.

"While I am not the most well versed in witchcraft, I do know a thing or two." Dahlia said as she picked up a worn spell book, being careful not to free any of the pages as she flipped through it, "I've charmed a man or two in my day..." she added with a laugh and a playful wink directed towards Max. "Do be careful, dear. You might not be among the living, but there are fates far worse than death should you be caught unaware on the battlefield."

"You mean like being brainwashed like those poor Coppelias.....or Coppelia? I just hope we're not walking into a little sea maided scenario. You know. A sea maiden gives up her voice to a witch so she can walk on land. Only this would be a girl gives up her mind to become a famous ballet dancer."

Anna looked at the rest of the group and said, "I think that I will go hang out with Clytie and Larianne. I believe one of us needs to keep an eye out for them." Anna left her huddle of friends and headed to Madi's bedroom.

"I can fill in where ever," Max added. "Though, personally..." Max pulled his waistcoat(/vest. not sure which this is.) to the side to reveal a pistol secured to the inside, "I might be best out there. I am a sharp shooter on my home world, and very little can happen to me being undead." (I just realized Max is now the only gentleman in the group.)

(((ooc Dahlia is the sort to flirt with anyone for fun... hopefully that doesn't make any of the characters too uncomfortable)))

I'll hide away in Madi's bedroom. Let me figure out what I need to write.

Anna looks at the rest of the group and says, "I think that I will go hang out with Clytie and Larianne. I believe one of us needs to keep an eye out for them." Anna leaves her huddle of friends and heads to Madi's bedroom. When she enters, she scans the room. She notices a few new faces huddled around in separate corners. She looks around and sees Larianne, in the center of the room, arms crossed with a scowl on her face. She notices Madi, sitting on the bed, talking with an unfamiliar face. She walks over to a table with snacks and quickly grabs a cookie. Food always helps the thinking process. Plus, she needs to keep her brain sharp to take back any information to her friends. Anna perks up when Clytie motions everyone to a table in the room. Clytie is bent over a piece of paper that is holding an ancient puzzle. Anna quickly says to the group, "Oh, a logic puzzle. These are so much fun. Let's work together to figure this out. Hopefully, it will help pass the time and when we are done, we can go out and see what our friends have been up to." Anna reaches for a piece of paper and starts scratching out her answer as she looks around to see others doing the same. In no time, Anna finishes the puzzle and silently waits for the rest to do so also. She's excited to reveal her answers but doesn't want the others to think she's a smarty pants so she just waits until someone else talks first. As she waits, she notices that Larianne, Madi, and all the rest of the unfamiliar faces are also working on pieces of paper. She smiles at how one puzzle could bring so many people together.

Hope that is what I needed to write. I'm headed to a baseball game today out of town so I won't be on later.

((((((( I edited your guys' bit just a smidge, because I believe the chapter suggested that only one Coppelia is a real one...

The chapter itself says: "Look at the girls themselves. Every single one of them is in lockstep with the one out in front. So much that only she seems real. The rest look like clockwork dolls." "Leave it to you to notice, Tan, but you're right. The first one has a vacant stare, too, although she is blinking regularly. She may have been drugged."

But it's stated a bit more clearly in the challenge itself: "What potion could have been given to the one human "ringer doll" of the fake Coppelias, and what would be the antidote for her."

GreenRowan stressed several times in her answers to questions and such that the roleplay is to be extremely brief, and that it is only supposed to be about splitting into the groups, not necessarily relating to the actual tasks that the groups have been assigned. So, though you wrote a truly lovely roleplay, I've shortened it a bit, and only included the first part in the official roleplay. I hope you don't mind!

We now have:

fighters: Max potion workers: Raine, Dahlia civilians: Anna

We still need brief roleplays assigning roles to ))))))))))))

((((((If I don't hear from you two, Canidae and Skydreamer, I'll probably just submit the following:))))

Raine glanced at the two remaining members of the team, Teena and Sky.

"Okay," she said. "Teena, didn't you mention once something about the people of your land knowing a bit about magic? At any rate, I could certainly use some help here, if you wanted to stay put and work on these potions with us. And Sky, you seem to be good with the hands-on stuff... Maybe you could join Max, and help get a battle plan put together?"

(((((If you guys DO make it online later today, feel free to either add to or reply to what I just wrote, or write something of your own to take it's place.))))
