Hi So I updated The giant list of usability and random improvement today but my first post shows empty. If I edit it, everything is still there. But none of it shows anymore.
Is there a size maximum for a post that could cause this? or is it something else?

I'm not sure if there is a maximum size for posts, but there could be.
Another thing I would suggest is checking to make sure all of your coding is correct. I had an issue like that on a thread before and it turned out that an un-closed bracket on a piece or forum code was causing it. Maybe that's the case here? I know you had a bunch of links and stuff in the post, so just a thought.
I have noticed recently that there is a character limit of 6,000 to every post. Perhaps with old posts that exceed this limit, they will show up as blank.
I did a quick glance on what I added today and none of those links are broken. Good idea though, i'll give the entire first post a check if something went wrong.
oh dear 6k, I just ran the first post through a character checker: 17701
[edit] Checked the tags and links: everything is ok. Looks like i'm going to have to split up my first post again or make a new topic with split up posts.

Was the post size limit the problem? Asking because I remember trying to work out what was causing the blank first post on some forum topics, maybe this can help him out.
I have no idea. My other post which is way over 6k as well is still visible.
[edit] I tested it by removing most of my post and it appeared again.

@ Niffler Ah, I see. D: At least everything should still be in the first post, so if push comes to shove, you can just make a new topic, right?
[edit] lmao, I should have refreshed before posting. Seems like it might have something to do with the character limit, at least?
@ bug Don't know if you saw this thread, but if you're looking for a freshly bugged blank topic to investigate the issue, here you go. :'D Sorry for the ping if you're already watching.
Thanks for the ping!
- I'm sorry this happened to you! But I'm also kinda excited because it sounds like you have some clues about what's going on.
Since it showed up again after you deleted most of it, it's probably the character limit that's causing it (6k or whatever). The data is definitely still there in the database though, especially if you can see the post when you click "Edit", so it's just a matter of making it show up on the post itself.
It may be an issue with the filter failing on large inputs. I've been working on a rewrite of the filter, if I find that that's the case then I'll make an effort to push that rewrite out sooner.
