A spell allowed for a cart full of art supplies to follow her weightlessly into the classroom. "My name is Professor Sarah Lee Turner, and I'm the Art professor here."
Professor Turner flicked her wand, and the art cart floated to the ground. The cart was loaded with paper, canvases, paint, paintbrushes, markers, crayons, pencils of all colors, clay, beading supplies, wire, glue, and other various art supplies.
"I am a firm believer that art can be an excellent form of therapy. I've studied both wizarding art and Muggle art and have found the same to be true for both cultures. Art allows us to express our innermost feelings and thoughts when words can fail us. I know I personally have found it freeing painting after a day where I've been particularly irritated or upset. So your task today is a simple one: create a piece of art. Use an emotion, a thought, or a memory to help fuel your creativity. You may use any medium you see fit, as long as it is something you created."
Your assignment today is to create a piece of art. Keep in mind that you will be awarded full marks for any effort made--so talent/skill is not a factor here. You may use a digital medium or physical medium, as long as it is something you created. Photos of your art should be posted here. If you want to roleplay as your character making the art, feel free, but it is not necessary.
All students who participate in this lesson will receive 20 points towards the tournament.
This lesson is due Wednesday, August 23rd at 11:59PM.
