Hi!
My boyfriend and I are saving up to move. We're currently living with my mother in a small apartment in a small town in the middle of nowhere West Virginia. We hate it here and would like to move out of the state entirely. Neither of us drive, so getting around here is practically impossible without my mother, and we hate having to rely on her. So we're looking for cities to move to that have public transportation, but aren't super expensive places to live. Neither one of us make much more than minimum wage, so we won't be able to afford a lot, and I know that's difficult with city living. He's been working at Walmart for over a year and I have an associate's degree in early childhood education and plan to look for a preschool teaching position. So both of our jobs can be found pretty much anywhere, so that shouldn't be a huge issue. We want to explore different cities and see what we like, but we just don't have the money to travel and check out new places. So any information on possible places for us would be really helpful. Thanks! :)
Where I live isn't bad, though Washington state has a high sales tax. But it's a nice state on the west side, especially when going closer to the Canadian border. Apartments aren't overly expensive. So yeah... hope that helped.

If you have medical insurance sometimes they offer a transportation service for medical reasons. My town has one but if its for shopping you pay them $5.00 or more depending on your age and you have to be done and ready for pick up by 5pm. I know this only will help when you do move and get set up but hey its all I know.
There no subways or trains or bus stations around me.

Seconding Washington! If you stay outside of Seattle on the south side (so, closer to Tacoma, Federal Way, etc.) the public transit is still decent and cost of living is lower than in the major city itself. Minimum Wage is $11.00/hr and the sales tax is 10%, BUT we have a fairly generous social services program. DM me if you want to chat about that a little more in-depth.
