I love to cook, but I am not very good at it haha. However, I got lucky and my boyfriend is great at it. I wouldn't say I'm vegetarian, because I do eat seafood occasionally. A majority of my diet is meat-free. But he isn't - he will eat anything. I just want to know what your favorite dishes are. Favorite things to eat, favorite things to make - whatever!

Im sad that no one hast posted here so i thought id post a recent delicious recipe i made up for healthy lunches :)
Steamed seasoned salmon with brown rice-
For the Salmon Filet:
-Salmon filet -Emerils Bam! Essence (original) -Fresh lemon juice -Butter -Fresh grated garlic -Fresh thyme sprigs Take a salmon filet and put it on some tin foil, season it with the Emerils, a couple thin slices of butter, fresh grated garlic, and throw the thyme sprigs on top. Seal the tin foil all around from end to end, and it will steam inside the foil for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees. Take the fish out and garnish with fresh lemon juice as wanted.
For the brown rice i just get instant brown rice, throw about 1/2 tsp of salt in the water and a little bit of 'No Salt Added' Garlic and Herb seasoning in the water, and let that cook. After cooking i put soy sauce on the rice as it goes very well with the fish.
Ive recently thought of tweaking it next week when i make salmon again, but making some garlic butter in a small pan on the stove, and then drizzling it on the fish when it is done. (ie. just melting some butter and letting garlic cook and simmer for a few minutes on low and then drizzling it on the fish) I usually just just take the juice that dripped from the fish into the bottom of the tinfoil and drizzle that on the fish instead but ill try my new idea next week too!

Most of my favorite dishes are real easy stuff because I've been making most forever lol
For a veggie dish I enjoy squash and onions (can add tatoes or mushrooms in if you like....I do sometimes). Just peel the onion and cut it into slivers, peel the squash and cut it into rounds, season as you like (I do a little pepper and garlic salt personally), put in a pot with some butter (or oil or a little water), cover and cook stirring occasionally until tender or mushy (your call on that).
For the carnivorous one: Pulled BBQ Chicken is a new entry to my cooking but super easy and yummy. Take chicken quarters (or you can use thighs or legs...I don't recommend boneless, skinless breast though) and put in a pressure cooker with onions and about a cup of water. Season as thou wilt, and set the cooker to chicken for about 30 minutes (Err I probably should have mentioned I dunno how to do any of this with a non-electric pressure cooker...) once it's done take it out and shred off the bone. Add your favorite BBQ sauce and mix and vola! Goes good on a sammiach or just by itself =)
Vegetarian for almost 18 years~ homemade pizza mac n cheese, tofu scramble (tofu, frozen spinach, canned tomatoes--when done, mix in garlic powder and nutritional yeast), pan-fry some tofu and top a salad, homemade cinnamon rolls, banana bread, vegan kale white bean soup, vegetarian stroganoff, ratatouille, zucchini cornbread casserole, spaghetti squash, homemade bread sticks. if you want any recipes, just ask.
Honestly...mine is the most simple recipe. My friend introduced me to this one like 10 yrs ago and it's still a fave.
Kraft Mac & Cheese 1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup Tuna
Don't knock it till you try it!
My super easy tasty nutritious lentil soup! This soup is so great because most of the ingredients keep forever so you can have them in your cupboard for rainy days. It's hearty and delicious and suitable for vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free diets, but everyone will love it! (srsly, I've had meat-lovers and people who've never heard of lentils fall in love with this soup)
Ingredients:
pizza flavored version:
thai version:
Optional:
herb and coconut milk roasted corn on the cob
throw it in the oven in aluminum foil
I'd say my favorite recipe is one I have for macaroni and cheese here. I don't follow it exactly, though - I leave out the mustard because I'm lazy, and use normal breadcrumbs because I have no idea where to get panko here. Basically, when it comes to macaroni and cheese, I only like this kind and the boxed stuff.
At the moment, I'm really into chicken thighs, potato, and green beans. It's pretty easy--throw a potato in the oven on a high heat for an hour until you get a very soft and tasty jacket potato, season those thighs with whatever seasoning you like (it'll make the skin crispy and tasty!) and cook them for 30 to 40 minutes, and spend the last 5 to 10 minutes boiling some green beans. Apply butter where wanted to potato and beans. It's VERY tasty and filling.
I also like lime and chilli salmon with rice or baby potatoes and asparagus or mangetout... get your salmon fillet, squeeze some lime juice onto it and sprinkle chilli flakes as liberally as you like, wrap it up in tinfoil and bake it in the oven for about 25 minutes. Boil your carbs and veg--although if you're having asparagus, I like to either bake that in the oven for ~10 minutes OR put it under the salmon (in the tinfoil package) and wrap that up to cook.
Just recently got a instant pot. Our favorite recipe out of it so far is cheeseburger hamburger helper by Pink.

Here's a recipe for pie bars that has yet to fail me
Ingredients 1 package yellow cake mix 2½ cups quick-cooking oats ¾ cups butter, melted 1 cup blackberry preserves or jam 1 Tbls water (optional)
Instructions Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with parchment paper or grease with cooking spray. Mix cake mix and oats in a large bowl. Add melted butter, stir until crumbly. Press down half the crumbs onto the bottom of the pan. Combine preserves and water, spread over crumbs. If preserves are already easy to spread, you don't need to add the water. Spread remaining crumbs over preserves and press down firmly. Bake for 18 to 23 minutes or until very lightly golden brown. Eat warm or cool, cut into bars, and serve.
I love my instant pot! Just made a cheesecake tonight followed by Chicken Enchilada Soup. Can't beat dinner and dessert all in under an hour!
It's been a game changer around here. My husband cooks everything in it since it's so easy. Tonight he made hamburger stroganoff. He hated to cook before it and now he enjoys it because it's easy. Dump the stuff in and it's done quick. :)
I am absolutely terrible at cooking as well, but there is one thing I can nail every single time - Tomato Salad. Legit, this is not something you want to eat if you want to spend time with people more that day, but it's a super easy sidedish and it's super delicious.
Tomatoes - preferably smaller ones with more flavor. A (medium) red onion Basil - preferably fresh, but dried also works great Fresh mozzarella - you can use feta if you prefer Olive oil Balsamic vinegar Salt and Pepper to taste
I don't know the exact measurements for this, because I just wing it when I make it. There needs to be more tomatoes than onion though, and a bit more oil than vinegar.
