Can I just say how ridiculously excited I am to see street art in the monthly collection? And well done to boot!

I live in the country so there's not really any graffiti by me (not counting the occasional 5 second initials in a heart on overpasses or abandoned billboards). While I do work in the city, I still don't see much of it - even if a recent news article says differently.

But my way to and from work runs along side a half-decent stretch of rail line. One of the reasons I like to watch the trains go by is the graffiti on the rail cars.

Most times its just a tag; hastily done, no real style, or just stenciled on - like one of those overpass jobs I mentioned. But every once in a while a gem rolls by. I've seen pieces of the graffiti from the Fresh Prince opening credits, amazing Garfields (with and without Odie and one with Pooky), an incredibly gigantic dragon that took up an entire car, the bottom half of a car tagged 'Gir' surrounded with several Gir portraits that ran the length of the car (seen last week and yes, that's Gir from Invader Zim), Grape Ape, and a cartoon cat in a white lab coat I know I've seen on Boomerang but can't remember the name of (see in the same train as Gir and after a quick search I think it was suppose to be Choo Choo from Top Cat).

The only thing I don't like is this: Since its all on rail cars I'll never see the same pieces again to get photos. And it makes me unbelievable sad.

To see it here now just makes me really happy. While its not real world experience, I still get to see something I normally don't get to experience. And!...I know that I can come and search and look at these gems as long as the site is around.

So from one incredibly happy country girl to the Artists of Subeta: Thank you. ❤

This is very lovely to read, thank you!

I love the artistic graffiti of Shoreditch and Spitalfields and Brick Lane in London. Going around and spotting such diverse ranges of art is such a pleasure to the eyes - and the weather outside can change the mood of everything! I love the memorials to idols passed, I love the political statements and raw emotion of the community being put on display immediately and boldly. I think it's an important art form, and I'm glad to have it brought to Subeta even in a small way. I'm extra happy to see it received well!

AHHH YES ❤️ i love this a bunch too!! i live in a suburban area so i don't really get to see it at home either, but i also live about 30 mins away from the dallas arts district, and ohhhh my gosh, there's graffiti ALL OVER deep ellum and it's one of the coolest things i've ever seen. i love going up there just to look at it all - there's flowers as tall as buildings, starry nights in the middle of the day, and pretty girls in oranges and teals with funny dreamy expressions that are way too easy to fall in love with (in that weird, fictional character, 'you're totally not real but i wanna know what you're thinking anyway' way). it's just super cool and beautiful and i really wish it was more acceptable all over the place (like ik it's no big deal in an arts district but i want it everywhere). it's one of the coolest art forms ever and i'd love to see more stuff in that sorta style ❤️
