With the students all gathered in the Great Hall of the Ilvermorny castle, Headmasters Halima Moussa, Agilbert Fontaine, and Appoline Persnickety approached the head table where the Goblet of Fire sat.

"Good afternoon, one and all," Professor Fontaine addressed the hall. "Our prospective champion candidates have all put their name into the Goblet of Fire for consideration, and the time has come for the Goblet to make its decision."

"Thank you all to those who stepped up to represent their schools. We believe the Goblet of Fire has a tough choice ahead of it," Professor Moussa added.

"We hope that the candidates not chosen will still put their best effort forward to help their school succeed. Because while our champions do play an important role, it is not the only important one. You are all part of one team, and you share a common goal," Professor Persnickety finished.

The Goblet of Fire, whose flames to this point were bright blue, suddenly turned bright pink. A bit of parchment soared from the flames and floated to Professor Fontaine.

"Our first champion from Ilvermorny is !"

Cheers from Ilvermorny erupted while a second piece of parchment fluttered down to Professor Moussa.

"Our first champion from The Alexandrian Academy is !"

Cheers from The Alexandrian Academy replaced the ones from Ilvermorny. The pieces of parchment continued to emerge from the flames one at a time.

"Our first champion from Hogwarts is !"

"Our second champion from Ilvermorny is !"

"Our second champion from The Alexandrian Academy is !"

"Our second champion from Hogwarts, and the final chosen champion for this competition, is !"

Cheering continued for a few moments before Professor Agilbert Fontaine held his hands high to call for silence.

"Champions! Congratulations to you all. Your first champion challenge will not start the first week of the tournament, but we will not give you any other hint as to when or what it will be beyond that. Take this time to celebrate, then hone your spells to prepare. We are fully confident that all of you will be able to complete the challenges ahead spectacularly. Before you all head off, however, you are welcome to stay in the Great Hall and help yourself to drinks and chat amongst yourselves. The start of the tournament will be here before you know it!"

Zala sat among the Alexandrian students as the names were called one by one. She cheered for River and gasped when her own name was chosen. "Congratulations to all champions!" she yelled and ducked down to hide behind some students.

River was shocked to hear her name, but excited and honoured and nervous. "May I have a Cotton Candy Slushie please?" The girl asked as she blushed and congratulated the other champions.

Seb smiled and clapped along, cheering when the champions from his school were chosen. Both the girls were strong candidates. But they were also both his friends, and an unusual feeling began to bubble inside his stomach. Concern for another persons well being..? But his mind had been made up from the start. He would do his best to help his school achieve victory in whatever way he could, champion of not.

In celebration Seb went to the refreshment table and chose the strangest drink he had ever seen. If he was lucky, it wouldn't taste as strange as it looked.

Ra was excited for the people who put their names in. He wanted to sit and cheer people on this time so he didn't put his name in but would be helping and cheering for whomever was the champion.

As the fire turned pink he held his breath.... the Ilvermorny champion was said and then was called!! He cheered so loud! As the other names where called Ra was nervous to hear the second champion for his school - was called! Ra was so excited - he couldn't wait to celebrate and congratulate both of the champions from his school (and the other ones too).

Ra first wandered over to the drink stand and looked around - he didn't want anything too elaborate so he chose a Glass of Plain Iced Tea.

Corvus seemed honoured when his name was chosen as a triwizard champion and stood up when the others applauded. The goblet of fire was emitting a last tiny cloud of coloured smoke before turning out. Now that the tournament had officially begun, he felt really excited and even a bit nervous, but his face didn't show any sign of tension.
