If a profile doesn't have a "last seen" section or if this section is hidden, is there any other way to know if someone is online? I'm thinking about contacting a few people but it would be helpful to know if they've been active lately.
There are a few ways you could try. Recent posts, https://subeta.net/forums.php/recent/posts/USERID Wishlist to check if recently released items show up. https://subeta.net/wishlists.php/USERID Achievements to see if they have a recently released achievement. https://subeta.net/achievements.php#/user/USERID
Of course not finding any info doesn't mean they aren't around. [edit] Oh and search for them in trades. Those go inactive after a while, can't remember how long though. So if they have any trades up, then they've been on recently.

The recent posts would be very helpful. So I should just replace USERID with their username, right? I'm testing it out and it keeps bringing me back to my own recent posts.
edit: The trades! Yes, that helped me find someone. Thank you!
not quite. you can use the username for profile comments if you use subeta.net/users/comments/acemage but for the others (and subeta.net/profile.php?act=comments&user=USERID) you would use the id you get from their avatar (right click and open it in a new tab or copy the address -- sapi.subeta.net/avatar/USERID.png).
Oh! It worked. So that's how I can find the user id. Thanks for explaining it!
Sorry for not explaining about USERID vs. USERNAME. I was just about to go offline and was trying to answer quickly.
