Because of this problem I have just thoroughly cleaned my entire mouse but it still persists, which is disheartening.
When I scroll down on my mouse wheel it does a little, bounces up and down and mostly scrolls up, opposite of what I want. Same way if I try scrolling up, it ends up scrolling down in the end. I've tried looking at my mouse in the control panel but idk what I'm looking at. I have set it to scroll 5 lines at a time, and have tried 4 and 2 as well.
This mouse has been giving me trouble for a while. Such as when I click with the mouse wheel to open a link in a new tab, the tab will open multiple times. Same with simply clicking, my click registers multiple times. Like I said I have just cleaned it thoroughly, and I don't think the multi-clicking problem is still happening now. But this funky scrolling is definitely still annoying. I tried looking it up but I didn't understand or couldn't find what I was looking for. Anyone else experience this and have a solution? Do I just need a new mouse?
After slowing losing the ability to left or right click on things I just decided to get a new mouse! It was only like 1 dollar so nbd. Thanks anyway guys :)
- It might be a problem with your mouse driver. Update your driver, and see if that fixes the problem. To download the driver update, go to the mouse manufacturer's website.
If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the mouse completely and then reinstall it.

First off, there's like... very few things called "mouse drivers," and most of the time, they're hardly ever updated because there's not much there to update.
Secondly, go into control panel. Go to your mouse settings. On my laptop, which is running Windows 10, it has "Related settings." Click that. A window entitled "Mouse properties" should pop up, go over to the furthest right tab and click "Reset Devices." That might resolve your issue since I see nothing that'd openly reset from basically a mirrored mouse. o.o
