An 8-month old baby in Canada has become the first person to be issued a health card in the country without a gender, BBC reported. Huh? And Dove has launched their Dove body wash in different shaped bottle "because they want women to realize that beauty comes in all shapes". There is a tall, thin, bottle. a bottle with a defined waist , a slightly rounded bottle and a pumpkin shaped bottle for the morbidly obese! However, all the bottles are white, so there goes their diversity. lol
Dove is really special with their campain thing. I'm not sure what was their point but oh well.
Dove I still don't get but okay. (It's body wash, not a political statement, holy crud.)
I love the option of not having a gender on my license though.

Awww I'm SO sorry you've had to deal with this! I mean there's people making decisions to bomb innocent people to death and PoC are systemically discriminated against in many countries and millions are starving because food costs money but people's identities are being respected and WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!
I thought this was going to be a thread criticizing real issues, but here we are. We have people making decisions to make threads like this that are rude about people's identities because they don't fit the "norm."
Congratulations on your expecting a new baby. That is always a magical time in anyone's life.
Oh no, I'm not pregnant haha.
I guess I misunderstood!

I'm against any type of thing like this that goes against biology.
Silence is golden... Duct tape is silver.
It doesn't go against biology. You don't get to use that to excuse your bigoted views. I'd say "nice try" but that excuse is older than dirt.
It does go against biology. Your excuse is out of political correctness. It's also interesting the origins of political correctness. It's rooted in communism where the political group's ideas rank above reality itself. Yet the left calls other views fascists.
Silence is golden... Duct tape is silver.
But isn't biology always changing itself? How come intersex people are born with both "female" and "male" sexual organs? How come certain animals can reproduce by themselves?
Turtles are also changing their sex from male to female because of the climate changes and biology modifications. Aren't we all cells? Yas that we are.
By the way, for the curious. Canada still hasn't offered the 3rd gender (which is none!) option yet. You can get an "X" on certain things like your driver license (not everywhere) but most paperwork will remain with a male-female option only. I hope these changes will be for real one day :)!

That moment when community guidelines are setting fire on your behind to remind yourself to chill.
Is this still okay with community guidelines?
Well, lovely. Because I have my own opinion, I may well have stepped over some line here. I should know better than to be non-PC.

Intersex is not an excuse, it's an anomaly that never has both sets of genitalia functional. One is always more fully formed than the other. That doesn't make it relevant. It's a genuine physical condition the same way missing an arm or leg is.

Um, that's pretty much what I said...

Expressing your opinion is not against the community guidelines, but please ensure you are being civil with one another. If opinions cannot be discussed without personal attacks or veering too far into debate forum territory, then the thread will be closed.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm really not here to debate. I have my opinion, other people have theirs. We're all entitled to that.

Thank you for being clearer. I will stop posting here from now on.
Ok, but someone in this thread literally just called trans folks delusional. Yeah, that's an opinion and they're entitled to it, but does posting it really fly within the community guidelines? Meanwhile, the entire point of this thread seems to be to incite a debate over controversial topics. Now, personally, I miss the debate forums. I'd rather see things get discussed and differing points of view shared; I think that's important. But if Subeta has been deemed the wrong place for that, so be it. However, that being the case, you can't really allow someone to make a topic like "Here's my intolerant opinion that's gonna intentionally piss off a bunch of people, lol" and then tell us we aren't allowed to rebut that because that would make it a debate and those aren't allowed. I'm just saying I think this thread pretty much started off "veering into debate forum territory"...and not even in a particularly civil manner.
