Anyone else feel like murdering their neighbors?

It's that time of year again in the States. Independence Day, the fourth of July. Which in my neighborhood is apparently a 2-week-long holiday whose only purpose is to piss off one's neighbors. I've never met such thoughtless assholes in my life. And it's not even just the one family I normally have issues with. It's multiple different people/families. I know because not only do I hear fucking mortars going off from every which direction, but also because I frequently take walks around the neighborhood and I see the debris littering the sidewalks and roads. So not only do we have the horribly loud noise factor, but they can't even be bothered to fucking clean up after themselves.
I get that they want to celebrate, I'm totally down with that. And I understand that it doesn't get properly dark until 9:30-10:00, so they'll want to fire things off around that time, fine. But I draw the line when they keep going all hours of the night on into the early morning. Last night there were rounds going off past 3:00 in the morning. I've called the state police (we're in a township) but they don't seem to be doing anything - by the time they get out here, everyone's gone in. And the management posts signs by our mailboxes saying along the lines of 'please respect your neighbors...no fireworks in the park...there will be fines, etc.' but no one pays any attention to it and then no one ever follows up on the threats! It's disgusting! I would be fine if they did this on July 4th, you know, the actual fucking holiday, but it goes a week both sides of it! I have to get up at 6:30 AM most mornings, as do quite a few of my neighbors, so you know, we'd actually like to get some sleep starting at 9:00 (me at least).
I also happen to know a few veterans living nearby and I can't imagine this is very nice for them! Would you want to be woken up after you've fallen asleep at last, only to think there's goddamn mortars falling on you?! I don't think so! And then there's the pets. My two cats are scared out of their minds by the explosions. And if the explosions don't wake me up, their claws certainly do when they're clinging to me. I can't imagine what the wild animals must think either - does anyone ever think of them? Probably not, selfish asshole humans.
tl;dr: I AM SO FUCKING DONE WITH THE SELFISH ASSHOLES WHO LIVE AROUND ME AND THEIR LOUD FUCKING FIREWORKS.
I live an hour from the nearest city and still feel like I've got too many neighbors. On the opposite end of your experience, for the last 8 years, I haven't been allowed to shoot off fireworks or firecrackers (even though I legally can, because I am way, way, way outside the city limits) because we've had a neighbor with horses. Okay, I understand, and I've been a respectful neighbor. That's cool.
However, they moved, and sold their property to their daughter-in-law and her kid. They plastered their property with "no trespassing" signs AFTER TRESPASSING ON MY PROPERTY. I caught the two of them tromping around behind my house, even though I've got a sign up at my driveway, and it's not like it was an accident -- they had to cross the street to get here. Not okay! It's not like they don't have exactly the same amount of acreage!
On the other side is the rich neighbor who manages a large grocery store in town. They think they can do pretty much whatever they want. They built their driveway literally 4 inches from the property line, and were apparently enough of an issue that the original owner of my house fenced the entire boundary between this property and theirs, which is no small feat. What drives me crazy about them, besides the fact that their porch light somehow shines across acres and acres directly into my bedroom window... is the fact that for YEARS, they would leave a radio playing outside, even when nobody was home, at such a loud volume that I could hear the lyrics and knew what products the ads were hawking through my closed window. Again, we're all on acreage out here. It's outrageous.
They've gotten better in recent years, but they're still bad about plowing and using heavy equipment at all hours of the night.
You'd think buying a house AN HOUR FROM TOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST, ON A MOUNTAIN, would help with shitty neighbors, but nooooooo.
I feel you. I absolutely despise the 4th of July. My neighbors shoot off fireworks for about the whole week of the 4th and do it all through the night. My fiance works anywhere between 3-5 AM throughout the week so he has to be asleep by 8 PM at the latest to get a good nights sleep and still have time to shower and shave. So this week ALWAYS sucks.
Otherwise, our closer neighbors always wait until 7 or 8 PM to mow their lawn. Like, what the hell? I understand that it's cooler outside, but some people are trying to get ready for bed/sleep.
Overall, it is better than it was a few years ago when we had a couple of drug dealers as our neighbors. Nothing's scarier than taking your dog outside to poop and seeing some random guy pull up to exchange a "handshake" with your neighbor and stare you down for watching. I felt like I was going to get shot.
One of my neighbors set off five of those cannon type ones on the 2nd. You know the super loud, super bright ones that sound like a cannon going off.

At 12:30 AM.
When I lived in Chicago, I was in this huge apartment building. The guy directly upstairs from us lived with his wife AND girlfriend. I'm not sure which it was, but they would totally go at it in the middle of the night -- and he was a BIG DUDE and the bed was VERY SQUEAKY -- and afterward, every single time, she'd vacuum. At like 3:00 AM. She was lucky that my ex-husband worked night shift, so I was awake already, anyway. But yeah, their bedroom? Right above mine.
We live in an apartment complex and until recently, my neighbors liked to loiter in the stairway - blocking the way to the second and third floors. They also liked to harass people walking by and those who live upstairs.
Which confuses me because their apartment is right there. Like... go inside? I dont get it, but. Whatever.
I'm not one to put up with nonsense, so I went to the office and let them know what was going on. But since they paid rent there, they didn't really seem like they cared. It was getting really out of hand. And I'm really petty. I say 'excuse me' and am polite. But, generally I am met with "Well, i was sitting here first" or some other crap. If I'm carrying bags, and they hit them, well... it is what it is. I'd apologize and say" Well, maybe you should just go inside and you wont have to worry about it". And they always mumble under their breath but they wont actually do anything because they know theyre in the wrong to begin with.

At the moment I have okay neighbors. In the past there was one guy though that I wanted to punt into outer space. He went to smoke on the balcony (aka right underneath my window) I don't know how often per day including the whole night. He not only smoked his cigarettes there, he also phoned, farted and yelled at his kids like 24/7. Without ear plugs there was no chance for me to get a good night rest and even with the plugs I woke up feeling crappy because of all the cigarette smoke. Keeping the windows closed was not an option either, I HAVE to always keep my window open, otherwise I go crazy. So yeah, when I saw that he moved out I was close to cry happy tears. I just hope he moved on top of a misty mountain five galaxies away from here though, otherwise I deeply feel for his poor new neighbors.
Ok I have two neighbor stories.
One is about neighbors that moved in recently a few years ago, but before this giant conglomeration and generations of family members moved into the house next to me, their grandmother lived there instead. She was on oxygen, and barely ever left her house, she owned a lot of cats, that all loved to come say hi to me, and she was always friendly, we would talk a lot. But her house on the outside, was shit. Lawn would grow about a foot and a half tall before a grumpy relative would come cut it for her. There were weeds that were 5 feet high, nothing looked good there, and it was badly neglected. Almost nobody ever came to visit her except for whom i presume to be her son, once in a great while. I could tell she was lonely, and from time to time id weed her garden and take out the trash for her. And then one day, she passed, I was heartbroken. And then all of the sudden, this giant chunk of her family showed up to the house. 5 cars at least occupy this tiny driveway and the street now. Very shortly after they moved in, they cleaned up everything. The house is beautiful now, lawn always cut, garden outlined in stone, flowers everywhere, beautiful vegetable garden in the back, complete overhaul. But it just pisses me off. I get the vibe off of these people that they are just greedy and mooches. Why wasnt their grandmother good enough for a beautiful home? A mowed lawn? A pretty garden? Why didnt they seem to give a damn. And it just pisses me off. She deserved all of that, with the angel of a heart she had. So i just have this inherent dislike of them, because no one seemed to care. One of the many things in my life that has fueled my desire to be a hospice nurse.
The other story is actually quite recent and really unnerved me. I wasnt exactly the type of kid to get picked on and bullied in high school, mostly typical drama and whatnot of course. So i wasnt ready when i got verbally harassed in my driveway, and i felt uncomfortable and targeted. I was coming out of my house in my night clothes, t shirt and some shorts, getting ready to clean my car. I never wear shorts ever, only inside my house. It was hot, the weekend. So i get to it, start cleaning out my car. All of the sudden i hear from across the street the mocking-teasing voice of a girl, telling me "your shorts are too short". I kinda just laughed it off and yelled back "Oh cmon, these are my night shorts! haha". And then it got worse. They just kept saying my shorts were too short, and i kept turning around trying to see them but i couldnt. They started whistling at me, making like i was stupid or something for not seeing wherever the hell they were hiding. I then stated, seeing as they were trying to get a rise out of me, "I dont know how old you are but you are acting very immature and id appreciate it if you stopped." Then they start saying "yo bitch! Fight me!" and some other nasty things and ive never really dealt with something like this, especially from people that are hidden, so i got really uncomfortable, knowing their eyes are glued to me. Every time i would walk in and out of my house for stuff they kept mocking me, until I had enough and i held up my phone in the air, signaling i was about ready to call the police. This has never happened to me before, and i dont know if this is normal, but i hope to never deal with this again. Nasty, horrible, little girls. Their parents should be ashamed
