Prety much every time I send a gift I'm afraid I'm going to do this lol. I've made it a habit to c/p the name from the recipient's profile, just in case I fail.

If it's an inactive user, try filing a ticket? Maybe staff can help you recover it, since the user is inactive so the gift has probably not been opened. Also because CSC is involved D:

I try to always use the "gift user" link on people's profile when/if they have the extra user info box displayed. But so often people leave that off.

I second submitting a ticket. The worst is they'll say no, at best you might get it back and be able to send it to the right person.
