I've gone through the feedback and bug forums and multiple pages of the questions forum and couldn't find an answer, so hopefully I didn't just miss it.
I remember that the forum stars (the ones under our names) were earned according to different milestones of posting. I used to have two, but now I have none. Was there a change with this that was announced and I missed?
Please ping! Thank you. :)

rather than add more stars possible, the cheese got moved. It now takes a lot more posts to get a star. For many years there was no particular need to do anything like this. If you made x many posts, you got yourself y stars and it stayed that way. But apparently there was a need to make people feel bad and take away their rewards?
you now get a star for every 750 posts. i can't remember what the milestones used to be - i don't think it was in consistent increments, though.
Yes, that's right it was non-linear in the same way that many Achievement tiers still are. As a long time user who has had six stars for awhile, I don't feel special or rewarded to see newer users get screwed out of their stars though. Regularization or consistency are an odd little hobgoblin to my mind.
Ah I see. Thank you to both of you. I've been a user for a few years or so now, but I've never really been all that active in the forums. I worked to get the two stars I had, then kinda just stopped. Looks like I'll be lurking around here more often again. haha!
