hello everyone~ so i live in an area where, for whatever reason, it is extremely hard to find work. whenever i go to another town, there are "now hiring" signs all over the place, but in my town there aren't any. i have applied to pretty much every open job since april and got nothing, and whenever i got an interview they wouldn't hire me because i am going back to college in another state august 9th and they wanted someone who is able to work more year-round. it's really frustrating and because i am about to turn 20 i really want to be more independent and pay for my own things. i am also trying to save up money for my study abroad trip next spring. so idk, i just want to make money somehow. i tried selling things on depop/ebay but i don't own things that are worth that much that i am willing to part with. i tried some survey-taking websites because you basically get paid like $2 an hour. i love writing, i'm an english major, so right now i'm trying to do some freelance writing and hopefully some websites will pay for my submissions. i'm okay at drawing but not good enough to sell commissions, imo. any ideas, anyone? thank you so much :)
Uber/Lyft, Biolife, offer dog walking/house sitting.
fiverr is a site I've used for over a year and have made some money. I haven't been able to get a job (hopefully will change come this fall when I move) and have been using this to earn a little money n.n
HERE is my profile there.
Mechanical Turk (it's an Amazon company) is one that several of my friends use. I'm also a fan of Swagbucks -- you earn Amazon gift certificates taking surveys, doing web searches, watching videos, etc. I've earned quite a bit there. There are a ton of smartphone apps you can get money back on your grocery shopping, and one that I use even pays you to just upload photos of your receipts. I think I have 4-5 such apps uploaded to my phone, and they're all legitimate.
A slightly more controversial option is to sign on with a multi-level marketing company. Some offer better commissions and perks than others, so I always recommend doing your research and being sure to sign on with a company (just one, so people take you seriously) that you genuinely adore. I've had my MLM business for about a year and a half and it helps pay the bills. You get out of it what you can put into it, so it's not a quick-fix by any means.
Loving the idea of that fiverr site. I will have to keep that in mind.
I'm a big fan of diversified income!
thanks for these suggestions, guys! i have started doing some of the survey sites and such. i am kind of against multi-level marketing, but you do you!
fiverr is a good site and I haven't had any real problems with it :)
Any time :)

Hmmm... I am in a situation like this. But: I started my own business.
all I can say is: Remember your strong points. Make a list of what you can and can't do. Try new things. Maybe you're good at them! :D And if you like something and are not good at it: Do them everyday until you are. No one is born a picasso.
I learned Graphics. This is tough in Germany. And I made Illustrations and stuff. Now I craft art by hand. Before that I used to do ANY minijob I could find (almost). I even worked at Mc D. Cleaned houses. Educated children in english etc. Worked at a café.
Life is an up and down. But I hope you'll find a profession that makes u happy and pays your bills.
Dog walking or babysitting is what teens usually do. But I am sure people are happy about anyone who can do the job and is good with kids and/or doggos. <3
Best of luck!
