I know I've been here long enough to know the answer to this lol. But is there any correlation between item rarity and the number of crystals you receive?

Yes. Rarer items will give more crystals. I recently have fragged a lot of items to try and determine the new ratios.

It seems like Rare and Super Rare items both have a chance of giving 2 crystals, but will always give at least 1. Everything else seems to give either 0 or 1, but the ratios have been weird for me. Sometimes it seems like 50/50 chance, but sometimes it's like 1/4 chance of getting a crystal. It used to be different but they changed things up a few months ago.

Sounds like it! Remember rarity 66 through 85 is rare, and 86 through 99 is super rare.

Also, there are certain rarities that can NOT be fragged. Rarity 105 items won't show up, neither will currencies like wizard tokens and candy hearts. There's a couple more but I can't remember all of them...

I know that you CAN however frag game prizes and retired items, so like, stuff you get from Quentin's quests or dailies should be fine to frag :)

- To be honest, I don't really look at the rarity before I frag lmao!! I just go there, frag my stuff, turn in my crystals and move along. And yes, I have accidentally fragged important stuff before :P Totes my fault.

Quentin's stuff never really earns me that many crystals. But Carl's stuff usually does. Weird.

I've been fragging a lot of rares lately, and to me it seems like the ratio of crystals to rare items is 1.5 (or at least 1.3). I've also fragged some game prizes (thanks for the junk, Quentin!) and the ratio there seems a bit higher than 0.5, but my batches have been pretty small so I can't say for sure. Maybe I've just been lucky ^^

I know the staff has fiddled with the ratios in the past (like temporarily increasing the odds for events etc.), so it's not too easy to keep track of them, at least when you're a casual fragger like me...
