Yo~ I'm Blackjack, aka Rob, and I'm 29 yrs old, UTC +9:30. I've been rping and running rpgs for 16 years, I play in mostly obscure fandoms and prefer to do things old-school.
Basics
➴ Multi-para, 300-500+ words, storybook style/third person. Proper spelling and grammar is important to me, but an occasional typo or mega-sentence won't break the rp. I can't stay interested if posts are a rush-job, written at work or on the bus. There are a few Real Life issues that can interrupt things briefly, mainly my chronic fatigue, so I am not up for daily or rapid-fire rp.
➴ Slow-burn and organic development thrills me, plus open ooc communication! If you prefer sweeping things under the rug and/or aren't clear with what you want or don't like, then I'm not for you. RP is a two way street~ communication is incredibly important for all things! Small things, big things, potential things, I'm always up for discussing it.
➴ I've been in this hobby for so long, I no longer have any patience for some things, including:
"I don't know how to start scenes / plot / advance a thread. Do it all for me", players who agree with everything; those who change opinions/jump from one fandom or idea every day; and rpers who say one thing but secretly meant another, eg 'I meant apples when I said oranges :P'.
Genres
➴ I tend to favour Historical eras, Historical Fantasy, and Dystopian/Post-apocalyptic fandoms/settings. Other genres are soft sci-fi, arompunk, steampunk,urban fantasy, high fantasy. I have zero interest in 'meet at the coffee shop, bus stop, and office co-worker' scenarios.
➴ I'm heavily into historical research and realism in general! Nothing more accurate than some films or video games. I honestly care if the characters in a period setting are using modern slang, or Western technology in 1800s London, or can hold their breath underwater for 10 minutes, etc.
Misc/LF
I play more Canon characters than OCs, and Canon X OC pairings are always platonic. At the moment I'm only looking for Canon rp.
➴ I don't follow a lot of trends / popular AUs, fandoms, whathaveyou. E.g A/B/O, D/L, vampire & werewolf AUs, Marvel, college au. I mainly drop fandom X character in fandom Z world; I prob'ly wouldn't stay interested if the characters themselves are changed a lot, like being turned into a vampire.
➴ NOW.. I'm looking for like-minded rpers in my age group, who can fit one of the following ;
Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes franchise, seeking a Holmes for my Watson.
Final Fantasy IX [ Seeking a crossover / panfandom rp - I rp Zidane Tribal, using a mix of artwork and an appropriate celeb face-claim. I had a Potc / FFIX 1x1 recently with a Barbossa, that I'd like to rekindle! I also am keen on throwing Zidane into Once Upon a Time, joining up with Captain Hook / Killian Jones. I've only seen 2 seasons years ago, but I've always had great IC chemistry with Killian.
I have been playing Watson for about 5 years, and Zidane for roughly 9 years. My main go-to ideas for Ritchieverse is early on in the duos relationship, canon mslash, with slow-burn organic development revolving around criminal cases and life at 221b Baker Street! I always incorporate, and explore the characters' addictions and habits, and how it affects their partnership- Holmes' cocaine abuse and Watson's problem gambling. Please note that I do not make light of drug use, I don't use it for laughs or act like it's nothing serious.
For Zidane, anything involving adventure, pirates, treasure, portals, fantasy is all good! Zid entering another world = lovable rogue shenanigans x infinity.
