I know that I've seen user run auctions in the CW selling threads. I was wondering if anyone ever did auctions on non-CWs? If so, any advice on how to do it? When I was brand new here I seem to remember an auction feature but as far as I can tell that's been gone for awhile.
I'm wondering because I have 15 referral points; which means I can get the "Block BB Sticker" or one of the 12 RP plushies in that shop and I've heard they are very sought after by achievement hunters but I can't seem to hammer down a price for them. I'm unlikely to get this many referral points again so I'd like to get as much as possible for them, so an auction seemed like a good idea to me. I'd appreciate any advice.
You could set up a thread in general advertising to gauge/gain interest. To avoid the 'no unsolicited advertising' rule, maybe have a look through the wanted forum for people asking for the sticker or other high-end referral point items? You could then try contacting them about it, preferably via their threads if it wouldn't necro them. I found this thread pretty quickly.
As for actually holding the auction, I guess you could just try to follow the CW-style auction or do whatever is easiest for you. You were right, the official auction feature was deleted.
I love your avatar btw!
I would submit a ticket to ask staff if it would be against the rules or not, because it seems like it could go either way, and the only way to be certain that it's allowed is if a staff member confirms it.
I personally think it should be fine, but I would definitely get a staff member's word before doing it just to be safe.

Thank you for the advice.
Thank you for the feedback. I kinda' miss that auction feature it was kind of fun. Thank you; I like your HA too :D
Thank you. ^_^ I used to enjoy the auction feature too, but so few people used it. Best of luck with your auction!
Now with the CW boom I'm guessing the auction feature would have turned into a real mess anyways lol I filed a ticket just to make sure it'll be okay and am waiting to hear back now.
True, it probably wouldn't have turned out well. x) Let me know how it goes!
I'm guessing at this point you forgot all about this thread but you asked me to let you know how it turned out so I thought I'd give you a ping.
I finally got a solid answer to my ticket. I really didn't think it was going to be that tricky of a question so it's a good thing recommended I make a ticket about it. They decided it was okay to make an auction thread for a non-CW but just to make sure that I followed all the rules and to use the CW auction threads as a template. I sent a link to my brand new thread to the person that was handling my ticket so hopefully everything is fine. fingers crossed Now I just hope someone(s) will actually be interested in bidding on the points after all this fuss lol
Thank you for updating! It's good information in any case, so now we know what's allowed if we wanna do auctions in the future. Good luck with your auction.

I would wait until there's a holiday and more people around, but the longer I wait the more RP people earn from the Bathhouse - so I figured I better try to sell them while I still have a point advantage from actually referring people lol
