Hey all! I used to play Subeta a LONG time ago, back in the days of the Longcat debacle, and apparently my old account was deleted (boo! I had cash shop items and lots of old rares on my toon!) but I whipped up a new avatar to see how things have changed... looks like things have grown quite a bit here :)

Wow. You must have been gone a really long time if your account was actually deleted. O.O Subeta doesn't do that any more. Now if an account is inactive, someone else can take your username and pet names, but your account and everything on it remains. The names just get changed.

Are you sure your old account was deleted? If you know your old username, or a pet name you had, I'd try searching it. Check any identical names with numbers added on the end and see if you can find your old profile. Probably a good idea to file a ticket and check with staff too. It's best to check since you're not allowed more than one account on Subeta. Make sure your old one is deleted, and not just renamed. Plus if it is still around, all your stuff will still be there! :)

my old username was Chuuie, so it was def deleted :( but again, we are talking old old school, like 10+ years ago. (im old haha)... its totally gone! Sad to have lost all the cute items (that are probably worth a lot now), and all my pets with the books they read (and the expensive potions to make them cute)... but not much to do if its all gone :,( i miss my longcat! Which, searching, is apparently not even an item anymore in the game... i wonder if 4-chan kept harassing the game? hm

Haha that is a long time! I don't remember exactly when Subeta switch from deleting accounts to just letting active users take the names, but it sounds like yours probably was deleted then. And you're the only user who comes up when searching chuuie.

Yeah, the longcat item got changed a few days after that whole mess started. If I remember rightly, it got remade into the Draconis.

The same thing happened to me- I stopped playing during the Longcat debacle because the site was unusable for a while what with the DoS, DNS problems, and all the other issues. There were even a couple phishing attempts on my account. Then later I tried to come back but couldn't log in. I mailed staff about it to see if my account could be recovered and they said at the time they purged accounts that were inactive for a year.

Same thing happened to me too. I can't remember when I stopped playing for a while but I definitely remember the longcat issue. My old original account was deleted and I had quite the collection of items in it. I had emailed the staff back before I remade an account like 7 years ago (wow) to see if they could recover it, but they said they couldn't help me and I had to start over again basically. Sad day that was.

Ahhh memories.. I remember those days. I'm so sorry you lost your account. Welcome back, I hope you can rebuild quickly! EDIT: Googled it and I refuse to believe that happened 10 years ago. WHAT.

Haha glad to know there are still some moldy oldies here with me! To this day I tell my husband about this pet site I used to LOVE and the btards ruined it because they are... Well, 4chan >.>

Gaad, I remember the tacgnol thing! I was dating a guy in college who played subeta with me; I think his account was deleted.. I can't believe I graduated in 2010 and we were broken up by my junior year! He would remember that era of subeta and longcat, so 2007 or 2008. My account is recently 12 years old so if you need any translations from then-subeta to now-subeta let me know!

I can't remember longcat but I've been on this site for 10 years? So I think it might have happened while I was on Subeta but I just can't remember it...I has poor memory at timesXD

it was a trainwreck... the avatar system had JUST been released (this was like 2007 I think so right as you were joining), and they made an avatar item called "Longcat" with the tag "Longcat is looooong" (do not ask me how i can remember this), with a literal longcat wrapping around your avatar like an asian dragon. 4chan thought that the site was selling it for real money and thought that longcat belonged to /b/, so they attacked the site doing that DNS thing, and the site was down for weeks. When it got back up the admins/sitemasters/whatever, in way of apology, flooded the donation center with rare avatar clothing items so everyone could have nice things for their avatar.... it was a wild ride. If you were there, you would have remembered it!

Man, that got messy. I had to change my phone number because it was released and I was getting death threats, rape threats, hours of voicemails, couldn't even make calls due to the volume of calls inbound. Glad those days are over.

I remember the site going down for a LONG time. And after it finally got back up I remember everyone making sure they didn't lose anything.

I don't think I really had anything valuable at the time so I wasn't really worried.

Spent time on a Subeta fansite so the withdrawls weren't too bad.

daaaamn I didn't know they got personal info for admins/members! :( hate that happened to you! That was my first experience with 4Chan and it totally turned me off of those little edgelords

I remember that too! I think losing a big chunk of my items was what made me step away for a bit way back when now that you mention it!

Can I say though how tickled in am looking at some of the old items and their lineart compared to the new stuff? Its like your old faithful car next to a Ferrari hahs

Yeah, they got a bunch of info for various staff members (they didn't go after site members that way, just staff). I'm glad they never did get my address!

I know Keith used to have his address on the site for cash payments (he and I lived in the same city so that really suck with me), I hope no one went after him irl. That stuff is just ridiculous

I can understand that. If I lost certain items I wouldn't be too happy.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one to lose their old account! Starting from scratch again today, hopefully I can bring this account back to where my old one was. I wish you luck and hope to see you around!
