I have this thing about pets representing characters in the same story world being similarly trained, or at least trained in a way that makes sense... My problem is that my highest trained pets are in the same story world as two never trained pets. I could have started training them but I just didn't want to be feel like I have to train all my pets. (Which is what would have happened if I had gotten started down that mental path.) Unfortunately, it bugs the heck out of me anytime I try to do any of the four pets in that set.
So, I've come up with a plan that moves different characters onto those high-tiered pets. Since I love the names I have for those characters, I can't just go the slightly cheaper route of renaming. Nope, gotta name-swap. I know I'll be much happier with my pets once it's done but... ugh, soooo expensive.
Any body else gone down the route of major name-swapping for whatever reason? (somebody make me feel less crazy please)
You. Are. Not. Crazy. I haven't name-swapped for Tiers, yet, but I have done so for ID's. I love low ID's and some names just needed to be lower. Spiked is one name recently swapped, Vandalic , Freestyle and Megatronus.Mind you Megatronus will be either on his way up the training level or will be named swapped (again) with someone else, I haven't decided yet. ^_^ And yes it IS expensive but also fun. Reorganizing, re-planing. It's all up there with the addiction to pets XD hugs I totally feel your pain with the csc name game. XD

Are you sure? -still feels crazy but maybe not because of this so much- :D
Back when IDs starting generating over the 1 millions, I was bothered a bit and kinda considered ID hunting. Thankfully that didn't become a thing for me. I'm still not quite sure how though. LOL
There has been a lot of re-organizing going on with my pets... It's been a long time since I've been up to properly working on them and a lot of the off-site stories have progressed away from what I originally had imagined. It's been working out pretty well. Most of them have actually progressed towards the name I'd picked and it is just a matter of color and TC, a few were uneventfully shuffled around, but I just haven't found any other way around this lot.
at this point i think a single name swap is actually pretty reasonable! i've done probably too many name changes, myself --
widow's been renamed at least three times (project never > d strider > widowmaker, maybe once more in-between strider and widow?). i've renamed nyx at least once; he was hatake, but i don't remember if he was named something else before that.
and then there's gladio -- i picked up a glitched zentu, renamed that one gladio, then went looking for a pet with the right birthday (formerly renmina). then i name swapped gladio and renmina, and i had renmina for a long while until i found a noun i liked and now that one's halidom. i probably should've just waited and renamed renmina directly, but they're how i want them now, so... it was expensive and ridiculous but ultimately worth it, haha
tbh i'm thinking about changing widow's name again, actually... but if i do, it'll be just a swap. i'm not doing the crazy dance i did with gladio again lmao

I'm constantly re-naming & name-swapping, but my reason is birthdays! I like that characters have certain birthdays, belong to certain zodiac signs or whatever, and if a pet's birthday doesn't match what I envision the character to be like, then a swap/change is in order. "orz Right now I have a pet who's sun & moon sign are both capricorn, and it bothers me endlessly, because it doesn't work for the name. |: They're an angelic neela too, but it doesn't matter - there's going to be a change here. /shrugs Also, I generally like older IDs, but lack of extra space means that obtaining them has become a bit of a hassle. I still prefer adopting an older pet & renaming them over creating a one though. ~
Can relate 100%.
I'm kind of weird and particular about pet IDs and I have a good handful of pets that I'd like to nameswap for the IDs and most likely pound after. But CSC is expensive and I'm a stingy git. So I'm sitting here, stewing over it and choking down any creative sparks I might have had for some characters. And that just... snowballs into me not wanting to do anything with my pets in general because when I try to get to it, I'm reminded of what I should be doing and... yeah. I'm fun to be around! :'D
I did name swapping for IDs, which is a relatively common practice. I have a thing for having historical or "divine" characters to have lower IDs, which is why Nazgul holds my lowest ID so far.
For a few other times, I did it because I was simply too lazy to move hundreds of TC items xD.

I was planning four name swaps. I think I've found a way to get by with just two... (For now.) Unfortunately, in the process of figuring that out, I've changed my mind about the pets I am training... Again. At this rate, I'm gonna end up with a bunch of mid-line pets, which is okay I guess. It was sort of my plan to have all my pets trained to at least T3... Back when I had 20 instead of 50.
I think the only name-swap I'd done in the past was between Curate and a pet I no longer own, so that Curate could be a T5. And now I don't think I want Curate to be a battler any more so... That was a waste. -sighs-
Renaming is another matter entirely. I have lost count of how many times I've renamed pets. Mostly when I started moving away from character names to real words.
Most of the time I create my own pets, so I don't have to feel quite as bad if I can't make a name work. I'll only apply for a pet if I really love the name. :)
I don't think I'm as stingy as I am over-whelmed by options. Though I have just about decided to do some painful shuffling with the pets I am training as opposed to spending the extra CSC to do the other two name-swaps... So maybe I am more stingy than anything. IDK. LOL
Not only would I have to name-swap every pet to make that happen but I'd probably be forever shuffling them around... I still would love to have my pet IDs arranged by age. That's awesome.
All of you, thank you for posting. It's put me more at ease with my decision.
No shame in being stingy, if you ask me. x) CSC is through the roof and I think it's only gonna go higher from here.
I'm glad you've made progress with your decisions! 👍 Don't feel bad about the nameswaps and indecision, you're definitely not crazy. Happens to the best of us sometimes and it's perfectly okay to be picky with stats, names, whatever you can think of. Everyone has their own ideas for how things should be.
oof, yeah, four swaps would be An Event on a logistical level; i'd be worried about swapping the wrong pair ;o; glad you found a way around that.
consider your extra baby battlers an investment for future loot, maybe? 8) i was going to try and train everyone up to t3 as well, mostly for jobs, but it's kind of a pain so i've been pretty lax about it lmao. either way, i wouldn't worry too much about it being a bad decision if it means you get everybody how you want them :D
