I've spent about a million and grabbed about 700 items in the MB today. I have been ignoring price and just have been rsing everything. While I have run across some rare items, I have not yet encountered a single super-rare. I struck out the last two times I tried the MB. I had assumed it was just bad luck. Now I am wondering if the MB got nerfed. Does anyone have rates on drops? Does it vary by shop?

It sounds like you are talking about shopping in a restocking shop. It is my own experience that anything over r90 you will only see a few times per month, from about 10 for r90 to 4 for r98. (I ignore r99s because there are many many game mechanisms that drop those it's usually more effective to restock just about anything else unless you need the Achievement). Therefore it is not reasonable IMO to suppose you have gotten one yet.

I am curious, did you like screenshot this shop before you started? Based on what you actually got in your inventory and whatever storage you placed your extras that your Inventory could not hold, you compared to this screenshot nobody else ever bought anything ever and the shop did not restock at all inbetween you clearing it out? Because you might just be too slow or you are cheating the five second rule and should be frozen.

MB is the Mystery Box in the Arctic Frost that gives out items from a random shop that changes every day.

I don't know if there's a limit to what rarities it gives out though, so I can't help with that part of 's question.

I periodically dump the stuff in a gallery when my inventory starts to fill. I sort it later. That gives me two chances to make sure about what I got. You can zip through quite a few MB items in a short period of time, which is why I like to use it for scroll crafting supplies. Too bad it gives you tons of things you don't need and virtually nothing that really is needed to make scrolls above level 2. lol

I either had really bad luck again today, or they nerfed the box. Not a single thing that was super-rare. I got a single R82 (Banshee Tongue) that was the highest rarity I saw. The rest of the "rares" were R66-70.

I hadn't heard anything about nerfing the MB. I do know finding a super rare is well...super rare. When I try I usually check through the list of stuff I need and choose based on price. Its slower than your method, but I'm more likely to get something I want/need. The last time I tried I didn't even get any rares, but then I get bored quickly and don't spend a lot of time trying. So i can't say for sure either way.

[edit] Just occurred to me to check the Mystery Box! What&;d you get? - someone got an Angelic Feather just the other day, R98. So yes it still gives out super rares :)

I pulled hundreds of Book Nook items during that day in May, and practically all the items were of r70 and below, although I may have missed remembering one or two items that weren't.

I remembered it was possible to find a high rarity item like a stat booster around every 15 mins, when it dispensed items from the Apothecary at a time when elixirs weren't in there.

I had the same memory -- which is why I wondered about the MB currently.
