It's the new pokemon phone game, I just downloaded it and it's soooo cute. It's definitely a casual, low-stress sort of game and it just makes me happy to look at my magikarp swim about and eat the cute berries.

I think it's really funny how the magikarp make huge holes when they jump. In my headcanon, the meters measurement that you get isn't how high you jumped, it's the depth of the hole the magikarp made, and that's how you win the battle, by making the deeper hole XD

I was kinda sad at first that you have to retire Magikiarp, but then when I found out they still show up at your pond, that was cool. My second one is a calico. Love that they have patterns. :D

I was sad too about retirement... but I'm really glad you can still see them, they're not gone forever. It's so heartwarming to see them watching over the new karps :)

I love the patterns too! I recently got a striped one. Though, funny thing, I guess I'm unlucky, cuz I always end up beating the leagues with a plain red one. My three league winners are all plain red fish, now I'm thinking I have to beat all of them with red fish just to keep the pattern.

Do you nickname yours btw? I'm trying to nickname all of mine and I'm running out of name ideas XD

So far, yes. I named my calico "Coy", as a dumb pun on "koi carp". And my current one is "Karaoke", because when I go to enter a new name, one of the spelling suggestions iOS makes for the default "Magikarp" in the name field is "magic karaoke". xD

LOL nice! I ran out of name ideas that are a play on the word "Magikarp" so now I name them whatever comes to mind... I'm on fish number 40-something, I've been playing this game obsessively lol. But here are some of my favorite names I've used so far:

• Maggie
• KarPLOP!
• Karat (this was my shiny, named for like... 24-karat gold, stuff like that)
• Bubblegum (this was a pink magikarp I managed to fish up!)

Omg the scientist can make your magikarp evolve too? I evolved my first gold magikarp into a red gyarados because the everstone broke... Luckily the Mayor gave me a replacement everstone so it didn't happen again.

That scientist is the shadiest character though, i swear.

If you make a gyarados, you automatically go to the next generation since you can't do anything with it.

that scientist can show up after playing league (forgot if you have to win or lose) and say she'll buff your karp up! c: if youre lucky, your magikarp gets max level +1, but if it fails, your karp will come back as a gyarados from training too hard :c

OH MY GOD. I got that event, and I got the max level+1 from it. If I had known it could become a gyarados I might have been too scared to take the risk. D:

I love the "Many Wise Words" event btw XD It always makes me chuckle

I finally got the event, but I chickened out and didn't go for it because my 'karp was so close to max level. I'm kicking myself now! Hopefully it will show up again.

Love the pink patterns that I'm finally able to fish up now. They're so...pink.

I just discovered the app a couple days ago because one of my favorite YouTubers posted a video of him playing it. It's definitely an app to help pass the time or if I want to multitask on something.

1. Standard--Magikarp (didn't have an option to rename?? Or I didn't notice lol)
2. Orange/White Calico--Calikarp
3. Standard--Magikarpet, who I am stupidly proud of his name and thought I was so funny.

My current one is called Tortilla. I was trying to go for something a bit related to the calico pattern, and tortilla came up as a suggestion, so I went with it. xD

Still on Heavy League right now. I didn't get the game at launch, so I'm a few days behind. Plus I haven't played very much. I think I'm gonna have to raise a few more 'karp before I beat that one.

My bf has started naming his random pokemon. I think his current one is named Moltres lol. It's pretty hilarious. I might start doing that because I'm completely out of ideas at this point. (Generation 54 over here!)

Ahhhh it pleases me that you enjoy Magikarpet! Still my favorite even if he was just regular red Magikarp xD My most recent gal was Karp Diem. What's ironic is that she evolved into a Gyrados ahaha. I know you can see your retired Magikarp swimming in the pond, but I wish there was a list where you could see all of your Magikarp, both retired and forced retired. I know you can view what patterns you unlocked but I'd like to see a list of all their names and what they were.

I do like the idea of naming them after other Pokemon tbh. I have been trying hard to keep with the theme of some kind of play off of 'Magikarp' but it gets tricky after a while.

LOL Steve... That's interesting. Even the female ones are named Steve? Not that there's anything wrong with that...
