I was just prescribed a new medication in place of an old (Remeron 7.5mg in place of Xanax .25mg) and I've immediately noticed that I. am. STARVING. constantly. It's only been a day but I'm already borderline "obese" (190lbs at 5'7") and sure don't look like it, but I wanna head this off and start doing preventative measures. I'm already watching what I eat and drink, how much and of what; I'm getting my bike out and I'm getting roller blades here next week if I can swing it. I also really want to start yoga without tying myself into knots but that's a work in progress.
I kinda want to scream too because I went from not sleeping right to sleeping right but wanting to devour everything in sight without heed. I'm also one of those people who gets all shaky and such whenever I'm really hungry which is no good.
Halp? I can't go through the remainder of my time taking this medicine starving or feeling like I am.

I'm still trying to lost weight while having hypothyroidism and I'm on a variety of medications. I only have a few tips...
Try eating:
Also exercise can make you hungry right after, so you might want to plan your eating around that? Whenever I get shaky I try to eat some kinda fruit so the sugar kicks in... idk if that will work for you.
Good luck! It can suck, I know. ):
i find drinking plenty (i mean overhydrating yourself) of water really helps my metabolism, staves off headaches and when im properly hydrated i can tell when im hungry more easily. although i think in general if you're hungry then your body needs food. i mean, even cravings mean we are lacking something usually, so supplementing good choices like healthy fats and high protein stuff might help with that. i like to have meals prepped or easy, ready-to-eat stuff at my disposal. makes healthy choices easier when i've planned ahead (snack stuff like dried and fresh fruit, yogurt cups, trail mix or power/protein bars).
something that i personally do is get off my butt every hour or so and do some stretching and light exercising(since im a hermit homebody), a few reps here and there is nothing when its spread out over the day. another thing i like to do is put chia seeds in my water(its a little bit like boba...). the seeds will absorb the water and fill your tummy, while keeping you hydrated. this helps me cut down on snacking because sometimes i really dont like to be eating all the time to keep out of the hypoglycemic range (i have anemia so eating often and eating meat is important and i kinda hate it because im already chubby as is and hate meat!!).
eating as much as you need is totally healthy, eating every time you're hungry is totally healthy too...it sounds like you know already but offsetting food with activity makes all the difference so it's important to keep moving whenever you can.
If it's any help, you should focus on eating lots of starchy veggies. Sweet potatoes and normal potatoes are awesome. Just sprinkle some water and some spices on them after slicing and throw them in the oven for a few minutes. Eat them whenever you're hungry.
You can also try to eat some healthy fats - Avocado and nut butter (should be 100% nuts, though), nuts or other seeds. Keeps you filled a while longer. Eat these together with carrot sticks, apples or any other fruits or veggies you like if you want to snack between meals.
I don't take any meds, but I am quite helathy I suppose? I changed my diet a month ago and lost weight without really trying by doing so. Just focusing on healthy foods and you're all set. Let me know if you need some tips, I'd love to help!
