hi! you can call me Gucci or Mage or guccimage or whatever strikes your fancy. I'm really bad at introduction posts and icebreakers and the whole works so?????? I'm sorry if I'm awkward but I've been lurking for a couple of weeks since making my account and finally decided to branch out. I used the site once before like WAY back when I was like 17 - I'm 23 now - and I've got a lot of freetime at work so I figured I would hop back on and see what all changed and what was going on and whatnot. I like video games, music, I have a white shepherd named Ammy and I'm also a huge fan of animated movies, specifically Satoshi Kon or Miyazaki, but I like talking about animated films of all sorts. Oh, and I'm also learning Korean! I mean, I'm not good at it. but you know it's something I guess I'm also really good at run on sentences as I'm sure you've noticed anyway please introduce + tell me about yourselves!! I'm trying to get access to the blue building so you'll probably see me posting pretty frequently. I'm awkward but not shy so say hi! if you want. or don't, I'm not a cop, but it would be nice to chat!
Welcome to the site! I'm glad you decided to come out of hiding and say hello. :) How old is Ammy?
she's 3 years old! it's so crazy. every day i feel like i just got her last week or something. time moved so quickly. do you have any pets or kids or anything? i'd love to hear about them!
My 12-year-old assistance dog passed away last month, so I am down to 1 dog, 2 cats, and 10 chickens. I've also got a 1.5-year old son who is the center of my universe. :D
Treasure the time with your pup, it goes by so fast!
i'm so sorry to hear about your dog. :( losing a dog is one of the hardest things to go through in life. if you ever need someone to talk to, i'm always open. what are the names and ages/breeds of your other pets? and its cool that you have a son! my cousin is pregnant right now and just found out the gender the other day (boy), so i love hearing about people's kids & experiences so we can know what to look forward to when he's finally here. sorry if i'm being too nosy! if i ever ask too much, please feel free to stop me. i have ADHD so sometimes it's hard to filter out appropriate questions.
No worries, I am pretty much an open book and prone to being too personal, myself, so it sounds like we're well-matched! Haha. My remaining dog is an American Bulldog x English Bulldog mix (8 yrs), I have an Oriental Longhair x Turkish Angora mix cat (6 years), and my other cat is some sort of bobtail mix (possibly a Pixie-Bob cross? He's HUGE) (9 years).
If you're a chicken person at all... I have a silver-laced wyandotte, a gold-laced wyandotte, a dixie rainbow, a French black copper maran, a cuckoo maran, a white leghorn, an Icelandic, and two Swedish flower hens. All are purebred. My rooster is a pure colored Dorking, but obviously that means that I'm going to end up with a bunch of "barnyard crosses" once I start breeding them, haha. It'll be interesting to see how they turn out!
Kids are sooooo much work, but a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure I lost about 20 IQ points ("pregnancy brain" never really went away) and my body will never be the same, and I'm exhausted all the time, but my kiddo is an absolute blast and sometimes terrifyingly smart. xD
your pets sound so beautiful!! I'm such a pet enthusiast like yikes. my roomie has a dog too, he's a lab x pitbull who's only 4 and he's literally the sweetest thing. did you raise them all since they were babies or did you adopt them at different ages? and it's not that I'm not a chicken person, but I'm plant based so I still love hearing about animals! do you sell their eggs or anything or is it just cuz you love chickens? my cousin used to have a couple of chickens and I wasn't expecting them to be as honestly affectionate as they are.
and that's so cute. kids literally constantly surprise me with how smart they are like they spit information and I'm like, 'where did you even find that out? you're two.' xD does he have anything he's like crazy obsessed with? when I was a baby I was like OBSESSED with canned spinach. like, I wouldn't even it. I just loved carrying it around. also, what kind of cravings did you have when you were pregnant? I've heard of people craving some super crazy stuff.
My assistance dog was the only one I had from puppyhood. I got the other dog at 9 months and the cats at 2 years and 6 years, respectively. I'm a fan of rescue!
The chickens I keep for eggs, and I do have a few people occasionally buying a dozen from me now and then. They're less pets and more livestock, but they do all have their own names and personalities and I guess I'm probably more attached than I should be, haha. They're awesome birds.
Are you vegetarian or vegan?
Kiddo is absolutely obsessed with 4-wheelers and fans (ceiling fans, box fans, oscillating fans, windmills, wind power turbines, everything fan-like). I'm not sure what it is about fans, but yep, that's his thing! And omg he has figured out our baby gates AND the TV/Roku. The only thing that has stopped him from renting movies has been the credit card confirmation screen. He doesn't have the PIN. Hahaha.
i'm mostly vegan! i still eat meat when i go out with friends though, which isn't very often, so i still consider myself just plant based since i'm not 100% committed yet. i'm hoping to get there some day though! are you vegetarian or anything? don't worry if you're not; i don't judge. going and staying veg is like a HUGE commitment and really hard if you haven't been introduced beforehand.
i'm also a fan of rescue! unfortunately when i got my pup i didn't rescue her because i hadn't been super well educated, but i made sure she wasn't from a puppymill or anything. i got her from a friend; the mother pup and the father hadn't planned on having puppies, it just happened before they could get either one spayed/neutered, so i don't feel so guilty about it at least. but my next animal i'm definitely going to rescue. are you planning on getting anymore?
and that's neat that you can at least get a little extra income with your chickens. do you own a farm or just like have a huge backyard?
and that's so cute. kids are so??? weird??? they're like little aliens. xD does he talk a lot already?
Nope, I am strictly omnivorous, though I did make the switch to cruelty-free cosmetics, and most of my skincare is also cruelty-free. I use vegan protein shakes and such, as well. I like the products to much I actually started selling them, haha. But living in Alaska, so much of our diet tends to be subsistence, and the cost of "fresh" fruits and veggies is so high, that I just can't go 100%. Plus I personally feel that some non-vegan products are not necessarily cruel -- such as honey and eggs. But I fully support my vegan and vegetarian friends! :) It's a wonderful thing to aspire to.
I think once this dog passes, I may start fostering senior dogs. I have had a soft spot for senior dogs ever since I saw a 14-year-old (!!!) sled dog abandoned at the local kill shelter because it was no longer useful. I was so heartbroken for it. All it needed was a warm place to spend its remaining days. And I've thought to myself, why can't I provide that warm place? Or give them a nice place to live until we can find them forever homes? I have my Amazon Smile set up to benefit a charity that focuses on placement assistance for senior dogs (Susie's Senior Dogs, based out of New York), but I'd love to do something that benefits local dogs more.
No farm, but I live on 5 acres about an hour from the nearest city. Hubby told me I can get a turkey or two this year! They're really easy to keep -- they don't need coops or anything, especially since they are, uh, seasonal. I have two large insulated doghouses they can use to keep out of the rain and wind, and enough space for them to free-range. I'm terrified of turkeys, so it'll be interesting, for sure! But I hear such great things about them.
He doesn't talk much. He's still on the young side, and our pediatrician says that boys tend to be later talkers. He has been saying the occasional word since he was VERY little, but isn't really consistent with anything. He understands complex instructions, so we know he's not delayed or suffering from hearing issues. He'll be a talker when he's ready. :) My family is full of late talkers (my sister was 2, my niece was 3)!
Looks like I'm a little late to your welcome board, hope you're enjoying everything so far c:

Welcome back to the site!! I was in the same boat where I used to play FOREVER ago and recently came back, but it's been very positive and everyone is super nice <3 Was Ammy named from Okami, or just a happy coincidence? ^^
thank you so much! also your UN is so cute
thank you so much and welcome back yourself! I've really liked everyone I've encountered on here so far - it's really like a close knit community :)
and yes! okami is my favorite game, and she has a black streak on her neck where she's otherwise all white/beige and it reminded me of the ink used in the game, and it's also the only name she responded to so I was like, welp. there's no way I can't NOT name her that your HA is so cute and well coordinated! I love it. do you have any pets? :)
:O That's amazing, what a perfect match then! She sounds so lovely :3 Okami's one of my absolute favorites as well, every time I replay it I'm always taken away by how beautiful it is! Then there's the characters, and some of the fights! The buildup to Ninetails is one of the most memorable to me. I have two sweet little rats at the moment, who love treats and cuddles <3 Also hoping to adopt a kitty sometime soon once my bf and I find our own place.
