So this restaurant was featured on the Food Network a while back on one of their shows and I've been wanting to try it since then. Finally got a chance tonight as I found out they deliver and I'm stuck at work so that's great, lol. They have some really crazy sandwiches, all grilled cheese based. I chose a Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese. It's got chicken with buffalo sauce, blue cheese, cheddar, and chips...CHIPS RIGHT ON THE SANDWICH WUT THIS IS CRAZY.
It is the most delicious sandwich I have had in a long time. Maybe ever. The bread is called 'artisan white' and it tastes homemade. The sauce is spicy hot, but not so much that you can't breathe. The whole thing is just tasty as all hell, lol.
This place is totally local, they use all local products, and they pretty much have a new customer for life.
You guys have any local joints you like?
that sounds delicious. I'm craving hot wings now with all those things, thanks alot.
I don't eat out as much as I used to, since I'm super broke these days, but one place I liked would serve house-made coleslaw on a corned beef sandwich with swiss cheese and dressing. I miss it!
On weekends I sometimes get food from an Asian restaurant here in town, the only fast food I really eat. The portions are so big that one is enough to keep me fed for two days, it's not expensive and it's so tasty. I always go for the noodles, either with chicken and vegetables or just with vegetables. Sometimes I also order fried pineapple as a dessert.
Oh my goooosh that sounds absolutely fantastic! I have the craziest cravings for buffalo chicken (ESPECIALLY buffalo chicken dip) so truthfully that sounds like Heaven to me lol.
In the Greater Cincinnati area, we have a local restaurant called Tom+Chee. If you've ever seen the show Shark Tank, the restaurant actually made an appearance on it. I've read that they have plans on expanding to all the states but I'm not sure of their progress, or if they have at all yet?
Basically it's a grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant. One of their special items they have is a grilled donut with cheese. I know, it sounds gross. But then I tried it and was like "wow this is so unhealthy but worth it" lol. I've only had it twice though.
So one of my many actually achievable dreams that I've had since childhood was to live in a city with a Chinese restaurant so close to my flat that I could have it delivered without it costing a fortune (No cookie puns intended.) or get it myself really fast. I currently get to have that! There's one that's basically right under where I live now. Other people might not think it's the best food in the world or anything but I love the little place, the guy who runs it is really nice, and they have a fantastic duck dish. So I'm happy as hell.
One of my favorite local places is a brewery that's maybe a half an hour's drive from my place. They make this pear gorgonzola pizza that I could eat every day for the rest of my life. Raspberry-infused peas, caramelized onions, prosciutto, arugula, topped with a gorgonzola drizzle... I am slobbering over the thought of it right now.
My city sucks. We don't have anything like that, except for a pizza truck that uses stone ovens. How exciting, I know. We did get a Five Guys Burgers, but they're expensive, according to my mom and brother.
