I love goats and I want them in my life. I want to meet goats in my area. It's an obsession. I've already met goats in Washington state. I know there's a show Boer breeder near me but I haven't gathered the courage to ask if I can come visit. I get annoyed when people spread misconceptions about goats (they are picky eaters) or mistake sheep for goats and vice versa. The Goats Yelling video being spread online has several SHEEP in it. I'm very good at telling even the goatiest of sheep (Jacob and hair sheep) and the sheepiest of goats (Angora goats) apart. I also know that the horizontal pupils that goats are considered creepy for are on horses, cows, deer, and sheep! But since goats have lighter colored eyes people notice their pupils. Also they need to lick salt to get their nutritional needs met. This is a favorite blog of mine: http://babygoatsandfriends.tumblr.com And also: http://angoragoats.tumblr.com I keep a goat tag here: http://weizhentian.tumblr.com/tagged/goats There is a constant stream of goat content on Instagram as well.

How about you? Do you have a favorite breed of goat?

I like Angoras and Nubians, but also Indian goats like Jamnapari and Gulabi goats. Nubians have such long legs as babies. They're like supermodels. They also sound like they're screaming when they're bleating. Pygmies and Nigerian dwarves are more likely to go "uh-uh-uh-uh".

(Also please don't mention eating goats. I only think of them as pets and people always bring it up T_T )

Who would eat goats, that's mean Q__Q

I think goats are cute. I have no favorite breed but used to have a little herd in my neighborhood that I liked to visit. I also once saw a documentary which showed how smart goats actually are. Goats are amazing.

I love em! I've always wanted a pet goat, I imagine they're like dogs that are vegetarian. The pregnant ones at the petting farm always love it when I rub their bellies. Have you seen the ones with four horns? So crazy!

Goats are a staple food outside of the USA and Canada, though Texas produces goat meat. In the way turkeys are eaten at Thanksgiving, goats and other hoofed animals are eaten during the holiday Eid.

I love goats! During the warmer months I visit a local animal sanctuary once a month and they have lots of goats. I love hanging out with all the rescued animals there but the goats are always so much fun!

Here are some Happy goat Pictures for you! There are more on the sanctuary's website where you can learn a little about each goat. I love them all but Barton is my favorite (shh) because I got to meet him when he first came to the sanctuary as a little kid (he's the one in the first picture I linked to).

I always get so emotional when I see how much goats love their babies.

I went to a mobile petting zoo today but the goats seemed to be a little tired/stressed from all the kids in the pen with them. There was one goat who recently gave birth and a bunch of young goats that weren't her kids (they got headbutted).
