So, I work at an assisted living place. There was this one resident who went out to the hospital last week. He never came back - he passed yesterday. I'm rather sad he's gone, honestly. He was a good, funny guy. A champion chess player. A really interesting sort.
But his daughter. Oh, sweet lord Buddha, his daughter. She is the most trying person I have ever met. And that's the polite version. What I really want to say is that SHE IS A RAGING CRAZY BITCH FROM THE FURTHEST DEPTHS OF HELL. She made up lies about my coworkers and I to try to get us fired, she would pester her dad until he cried or started screaming, she would bother the staff about stupid shit she could've done herself...just, so much shit went on because of this woman.
BUT NOW WE NO LONGER HAVE TO DEAL WITH HER AND I AM SUPER FUCKING GIDDY ABOUT IT.
And I think that makes me a horrible person, maybe.
That is no way makes you a horrible person. You liked him (and it isn't like you smothered him to get rid of the daughter), feel sad about his passing. XD He passed and she sounds like someone who is just awful. Beyond awful, tormenting her poor dad like that and trying to get y'all fired! Feeling relief for not having to deal with her anymore is natural. It would be like if i didn't like my step-mother and my father passed and all i could think of was "No more step-monster! huzzah!" =0P

Being happy you are free from the torments of specific people doesn't make anyone a bad person. Being tormented like can't be fun, and if you could lose your job because someone complains and causes drama, is even worse. The relation to the tormentor doesn't matter - random person, relative by blood or by marriage - what matters is that the bullying [to say it nicely] stops.
i'm sorry to hear about the nice old man passing, but such is life. he must be better off wherever he is anyways.

Lmao that reminds me so much of my situation at the moment that it's scary. One of my residents died yesterday as well and while I am kinda sad he's gone I celebrate the fact that I won't have to deal with his family any longer. They were like a horde of gremlins. XD
