I just wondered because I have adBlock disabled for Subeta but I have a GA active. I'm not seeing any billboards (a broken image shows where they were above the forums for a second and then disappears). I wanted to find out before I spent like an hour in Photoshop making a banner. :P
They are definitely still a thing. I rarely see any, but i'm not sure if that's because they are glitching or people just aren't buying many.

I have one up for Masquerade and so far, it's been really underwhelming
Same :( I guess more people are rocking with adblockers.
Billboards used to avoid add blockers though :o

I think ad blockers have gotten more effective, there are ways to block the whole section that has the ad in it instead of just the ad itself.
But anyway, I think a lot of people probably just don't bother with them anymore. I'd only ever make one for the achievement, and that's probably it.
I think it's more effective for people to just host a contest on the event board and then ping any forum groups you're in and ask them to tell their friends about it too. Or just post a lot on the "Dance with user above" threads.
I honestly think that they probably are glitching because I just turned my adblocker off entirely and I'm still seeing 0 billboards...which might explain the underwhelming clicks? Maybe a lot of users aren't seeing them at all. :|
Edit: I'm dumb! I also have uBlock Origin and that was blocking the element entirely. I just disabled it and I'm now seeing billboards. Oops.
You have a GA though, so would that affect it? Or do people with GAs still see billboards?
Maybe they are broken, I'm not really sure. If they are broken, they're probably not a huge priority to fix.
[edit]Ah, okay! But still, it might be that not many people see them anymore.
Yes, the billboards are visible with a GA (if you don't block them in some way). They are around; people have been using them regularly.
However, those without a GA will not see them anywhere, because an ad will be in their place instead.
