Yes, I realize that he comes and will propose to duel with you once you actually go out onto the dance floor.

What I'm curious about is if he wants to duel you when you are invited, or once someone has accepted your request, or both?

The reason I ask is because when I accept someone's invitation to dance, the site is so laggy and having issues that I'm lucky if I can see the page where they give me trinkets even half the time. Most often I get a 504 error, and there's no way to get that page back - if you refresh, you just accept the next dance someone invited you to.

So am I missing out on possible duels because of this? Or does he only want to duel when YOU invite someone, and so when they accept your proposal, he might come around then?

I think he has a chance of showing up either way, but I haven't seen him at all yet this year.

It's both. The random event popup happens on the "Your proposal to dance has been accepted!" and/or "Go to the Dance Floor" links. You know, the page with the ballroom and the avatars on it? That's where it pops up, if you get it.

Anyway, it seems fairly rare, since I've done about 100 dances and I've only had it happen twice. But, it might have something to do with the lag too, since I don't get to check out the "Go to the Dance Floor" link if I get an error page instead.

I've got a thread with a little more info here in the event forum. It's pretty easy, since it's just a rock paper scissors thing and it's best out of 3. (there isn't any real skill to it) And, winning gets you a whole bag of trinkets too. :)

I've been around for several Masquerades, I know how most all of it works. =) I've just been getting really frustrated by all of the site/lag problems when it comes to accepting dances, so I was wondering if I should bother saving them all for when less people are online or not. I dig the skull piece you have on your avatar, by the way. =)
