I was tallying up items and sP values of quest rewards and noticed that - really common, rarity 15, restocking regularly as far as I know - is in shops in limited quantities for around 5 million sP. Just wondering if I'm missing some horrifyingly major change on this? Is it an achievement item, is it a new item needed for Genetech, or is this just some monstrous one-off?

Hmm, I have no idea. It's not needed for any achievements or genetech combos, as far as I can tell. Maybe someone bought out a bunch to try and inflate the price or something? But this is kind of strange...

I initially thought somebody tried to inflate it as well, but there are only 13 on shop search, ranging from 4.9 million to 100 million, so that didn't seem like my very basic-b*tch understanding of artificial inflation.

Well, it puts me in a quandary as to how to price it, so I guess I'm going to crash the market on this one xD

Yeah, it doesn't really make any sense but I can't really think of an explanation. Unless it's stopped restocking frequently for some reason and nobody noticed.

Strangely enough, someone did the same thing with Cheese yesterday. :X

A friend was trying to get her baking levels up and just watched the cheese skyrocket in price over the span of an hour or so.

I guess in theory I can understand how the cheese thing might make an impact, since it's a higher demand market, but that's unreasonably expensive for cheese.

It does appear now that a challenger has arrived on the wifebeater front: somebody just dropped 11 in their shop for 4.5 million.

It's definitely a higher demand market for it, but Cheese was definitely not anywhere near 1.9m for a long time and nothing new was released recipe-wise to explain the price. D:

I think it's safe to assume that someone's been mass-buying the items and inflating prices for whatever bizarre reason. Don't know why, because of the low rarity and frequent restocks they're fairly unlikely to break even after that, let alone make a profit.

LOL once i mass-bought because someone said they liked them, and i bought them all the way up to like 20m or something just to gift them over a hundred Mobo hahahhaha xD

but anyway yeah after 2 weeks or so the price dropped back to 9k so just let those artificial inflaters sink their cash into something that wont remain profitable n_n

Someone probably thought the cheese was the best character on the show, better than both the salami and the baloney combined :P

They can also easily come from vending and the Mystery Box you know! xD

I mean, I'm not complaining about my 9k apiece wifebeater, but I actually think maybe I should've gone higher in price to drag it down some more. Also, now I know who just bought all of mine within about twelve seconds, so I guess they just have an affinity for gross tanks!

haha... that's why I went to 1.5m. I don't want anyone to actually buy it, just set a lower price so the others lower as well.

Well...mistakes have been made here lol. I saw yours at 1.5, then somebody else at 200k, and I thought "Oh well I'll just bring it all the way down". I did, however, confirm that they're still stocking regularly in the NPC shop because that's how I went from 1 quest reward to 5 in my shop.

The last I saw it, it was still reasonable price... but that was when I saw it on Recycle Beast's list quite a while ago. Perhaps on that day people just kept on buying until it became unbuyable... kind of like how Night Blooming Drooplebud is right now... currently the only 3 copies that are selling is from me XD That is literally the last 3 copies I have o.o

Didnt this happen a little while ago with some washed jeans? they went sky high for no reason, I think its some sort of secret society sending coded messages to each other.
