When I go to the groups home, I'm presented with the newest groups. There are no pages, or any way to look through all existing groups? There is a search bar, but that means I have to already have something in mind. Is there any way to just browse all groups to see what's out there? How do you find new groups to join?

as far as i'm able to tell, no, there isn't really a good way to do that. you could trawl the forum groups subforum though, and maybe see if anything there interests you.

as far as I know, there is not.

As for finding groups to join I recommend:

  1. browsing the Forum Groups forum.
  2. asking your friends and acquaintances what groups they're in.
  3. create a thread in the general forum asking people what groups they belong to
  4. create a thread in the Forum Groups forum asking for recommendations.

For utility groups, I suggest: Token Shop Restock - get pinged when stuff is in the token shop. News - info that gets posted offsite, facebook, twitter and whenever a newsletter is released. Site Update - staff pings when major changes happen that aren't posted in the news. Tiny Update - minor changes that don't bother to get pinged to site update.

Guess so. Thank you :)

Thanks for the tips!

Hopefully they'll add some sort of "view all groups" some day ?

you're welcome.

Yes, considering that groups are the cult replacement, there needs to be an easier way to find them. Its a little late now, but it just occurs to me that they should have started ping groups with a tag system, where you can tick a box to indicate the type of group - personal, CW/art, games/contests, events, etc. Then use that as a functional way to search for groups you want to join.

The problem with browsing all groups is that there are so many "junk" groups - not junk to the people who use them of course, but Jane Doe's Friends or MyBank, for example aren't things we need wade through when browsing all groups.
