can you add a back ground to your avatar? i have seen a lot of avatars with a background and wondered how to do it?

there are lots of items in the 'backdrop' layer in the wardrobe that you can wear - newer ones don't have a cutout but you can drag the item below your avatar base in the layer panel on the left. you can see them all and try them on by changing the filters in the wardrobe to 'all subeta items' and 'layer: backdrop'.

where can you buy backdrop items?

You can buy them all over the place; there isn't one specific shop. Here is a list of all the backdrop items on the site that you can scan through. If you find one you like, subetlodge conveniently lists where it restocks (if it does) and provides links to purchase the item!

whats a good forest background that doesn't cost a lot?

Unfortunately, a lot of the best backgrounds tend to be event or achievement prizes, so they're always relatively expensive. A lot of good backgrounds also come from the Cash Shop, so they're pretty pricy as well. There some nice, cheap options out there though; you just sort of have to sort through all the expensive and/or bad backgrounds to find the hidden gems. lol
