I see people mentioning other users in their posts and it shows up as a bold . How do I do that?

Aside from just typing @ followed by the username, there's a little megaphone button to the top right of posts on the forums, that will fill in the ping for you so you don't have to worry about spelling a name wrong or remembering how to ping with brackets in case the user has underscores/dashes in their name c:

Just a note that adding the @ pings (sends an event) to the person, whereas if you just want to mention them you can type [*user=their username] just remove the * like this:
