baked potatoes with butter and condiments? mash potato (you can make with water/butter instead of milk) a mix of boiled potatoes with boiled eggs and whatever you have else and a sauce that tastes good to you fries a potato omelette kind of thing... been there too lol
I've only ever made red wedges, but roasted garlic potatoes should be made pretty much the same (just garlic instead of paprika), so they'd be quite easy!
Here's a rough recipe for the stuff you have if you need one:
SPOILER (click to toggle)
-First peel 2-3 potatoes (more if they're very small) or however many you feel like eating, and cut them into reasonably even wedges (or if you want to use the microwave for them, diced might work best).
-Put some vegetable oil into a bowl (just enough to cover the potatoes should work fine) and roughly 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of the garlic salt (most of the recipes I've seen call for 1-2 teaspoons for a recipe that serves a family (e.g. here)(and here), so half that is probably all you need to use). Also, if you'd like, a few pinches of the dried basil (crushed first).
-Put the potatoes in the bowl and mix it together so all the potatoes are covered evenly.
-I've only ever cooked them in the oven, so I did some googling. If you go with the crockpot, cook them on high heat for 2-3 hours, or low heat for 5. (source)(source 2)
Or if you use the microwave, cook them in a bowl covered in cling wrap, or a microwave safe container with a lid, on high for 10 min. (source) But for this method you might want to microwave them for 5 min, mix them, and microwave for another 5.
I'm not sure about many recipes, but here are a few that might be doable: hash browns chips - though it may need a lot of oil since usually they're deep fried gnocchi - the recipe has cheese in it, but it'll work fine without it. They might be a bit plain with no sauce, so you can probably make a garlic butter sauce or something simple for them - for that recipe, just substitute the garlic clove for a pinch or two of your garlic salt (the conversion of a garlic clove to garlic powder is 1/3 teaspoons of powder per clove according to this, but the garlic salt might make it too salty if you add too much), and ignore the parsley.
Hehe, sorry I went a bit overboard! I hope you find some yummy recipes! :)
boiled eggs with boiled potatoes??Sounds odd to me..are you talking about some kind of egg salad?
im not into using more than a cap of veggie oil.

Potato latkes! You can put the applesauce on them, :) (Most recipes call for onion, but you can do it without the onion if you have to.)
I think I ate one once but it was oily..is there a healthier way to make them than deep frying?

Take your potatoes and bake them in your crock pot. Once cooked, take them out and remove a bit of its stuffing by making a hole like that. Take your stuffing and put it in a bowl. Use your canned corn and pinto bean and put it in a skillet with a bit of oil or butter. Add seasonings: garlic salt, dried basil, salt and pepper. Remove from skillet and put on the side. Put a bit of oil/butter again in your skillet. Cook an egg as you want to eat it. Once done, you take back your potatoes stuffing and mix the corn and beans with it. Add more seasonings if needed.
The last step is to put the stuffing back in the potatoes and put your egg on the top. It's done.
You can just pan fry them in a little bit of oil, you don't have to deep fry them. I saw a recipe where a person sprayed their latke in Pam before they pan fried it. They are kind of like more substantial hashbrowns.
Also, I have a friend who used to eat scrambled eggs in a baked potato. -- You do not need foil to do a baked potato. My wife has done them by just putting them directly on the rack in the oven and they turned out fine. That's kind of a weird food, but when you have limited resources, you use what you have!
so basically kinda like a toad in a hole but instead of bread use a potato?
today I had leftover potato stuff from yesterday..
any white rice ideas would be appreciated! I just cooked my 1st batch in the electric skillet without it being crunchy..I never could cook rice before..
