So I have a Wacom Intuos tablet and I am having a serious problem with my hand and arm interfering. The tablet is hyper-sensitive and is constantly sending my mouse all over the screen. It is making drawing difficult and I have been able to find any answers through google. The tablet I had previously (monoprice) only picked up the pen nub, whereas I can draw with my finger on this one.

Is there any fix to it, or is it something I have to learn to deal with?

At the back of it there should be a button to turn your touch off. By back I mean the thin side where you usually connect your cable to.

I've got an Intuos also, though it was the smaller option. You may try changing some of your sensitivity settings. When you first installed the tablet, did it give you the option to configure it and make the settings fit the way you liked it?
