Hello everyone,

I recently completed the Love Bug infection and received the skin in my wardrobe. I removed it and then got infected with Butterfly Bruise. I am currently at stage 1 of the Butterfly Bruise. Is it safe to put the Love Bug Skin back on in the wardrobe to bite people for that strain or will that remove/hinder/slow down my progress with the new Butterfly Bruise strain?

The new strain is insufficiently developed.. This is what the VIP program 'officially' thinks you have. You can register to bite or register to be bitten, but not both.

I am aware I can not bite any users for the Butterfly Bruise yet since it is still at stage one. I can however equip the Love Bug skin in my wardrobe and bite users for that. I know because I have tried. However what I wonder is if 'equipping the skin of a different strain' will hinder the progression of the strain I currently have (Butterfly Bruise)?

My guess is no.

When the new strains were being developed, some users put on old skins to bite people with. And their new strains still completed on time, just like everyone else. So I believe you are fine.

I can definitely confirm. I started biting with old skins immediately after acquiring both new strains. You can find more discussion on it here. The penalty thing got a little fuzzy because I was seeing the ability to bite MUCH sooner than I should have (temp glitch, most likely), but there is no penalty.
