I wasn't sure where to post this question, and it might seem silly but I am trying to really get into Subeta and trying out new things to do. So, basically I was wondering if getting into battling is worth it financially?

Financially, I don't think so, as it takes a major investment in getting your pets stats up, and getting a great battle set. That said, I would still advise you to invest in training at least one of your pets via the training centre, and slowly building up a decent battle set. New battle challengers are released regularly, which give out special items at your 5th win against them. Those could be worth quite a bit. Also in certain plots, battling is not always required to advance, but they could still give you an advantage. So basically, it all depends on what your interests are. It's not required to get into battling in order to play Subeta, but it can be handy in plots etc to get at least one pet with decents stats and weapons.

Only if it's something that interests you. It can be very rewarding in other ways, but you will not profit from it when it comes to the sP and time you have to invest in it.

In almost all cases none of the items you can get from battling are more expensive than the cost of training and equipping your pet in order to score them as loot. I disagree with . In those few cases where it isn't cheaper sP-wise it's still worth buying the item if battling wasn't any fun and you had other things to do with the sP you are earning. sP is easy to get and there is almost always someone who will sell you a copy.

Its not worth it financially. You will never get back what you invest.

That said, I still recommend training at least one of your pets. You may someday develop an interest in battling, after you've explored other areas of the site. If that happens and you haven't trained a pet, you'll lose interest long before you can train your pet to a level that makes battling fun/interesting. On the other hand if you do invest some sP in training, and never do develop an interest its not a big deal, because its easy to make sP, so wasting a bit on training won't hurt. The major financial outlay is in battle weapons, not training (at least not until higher tiers, or if you invest in CSC training sessions and/or stat boosters).

I feel like battling pops up enough during holidays that it can be worthwhile to train your pet to maybe tier 4 or tier 5. It's slower, but the most economical way to get to this point is by training your pet maybe to T2 or T3 and then doing the rest with battle quests (which can be profitable because they give you things that Maleria asks for). At this tier, the majority of the weapons are not terribly expensive either. The last boss battle was also posed so that pets from every tier could participate and win an expensive prize.

Training a pet to T13 and buying a good weapon set is mostly only worth it on a personal goal level.

I agree with what Kestrel said. I mostly battle just on the holidays against the NPC enemies, and that's pretty entertaining. I found I enjoyed the site events more when I had a mid-level battle pet because I could finally (mostly) hold my own. For me, the event prizes were worth it.

Financially, you probably won't make a profit, but if you like the idea of battling during site events, it's probably emotionally worth it.

Strength, Level and Intelligence are also used in the Job Agency to get a pet higher paying jobs. This can help to pay for training.
