Hey guys, I'm trying to get into using loose leaf tea over tea bags and was wondering if any of you lovely people out there had any suggestions/recommendations for me :)

If it helps anything I'm more of a fan of herbal teas and green tea over other teas.

Thank you!!

I used to be on this ridiculously strict diet (I made it even more strict because I wanted to hurry, and my body got so pissed off instead... lol), and one of the few beverages I was told to consume was raspberry leaf tea. There's a local tea market here where I live and I'd go there and get a bag of the leaves. It's delicious by itself and... well... it helped.... lol!

I still have some, I plan to keep it around in my life like that one paleo recipe I really dug when I attempted paleo right before my ex and I broke up pokes signature. I'm on Weight Watchers program forever now, I've established I can't live without their guidance EVER. I am their sheep! XD

Have you tried oolong or jasmine?

One of my favorite loose leaf teas is strawberry rose champagne from teavana actually... it's a berry tea, I like to mix it with their peach tranquillity. Teavana is... well, it's something. It's not actually the fanciest tea, they just have fancy names, but it's easy to find in the US and I think they taste good

I'll see if I can find it somewhere near me, thanks!

I've never actually been in a Teavana hahah, I thought they only sold it premade. Do they just sell little packets of loose tea?

I don't think they sell packets. They sell cans of loose leaf though. Like just cans of um... leaves and stuff lol. You have to get your own strainer or something, to put the loose leaf in, because it doesn't come wrapped in any paper or anything.

Yeah I've been having a look at their website and it seems pretty expensive lol. I have a tea steeping thingy that I can use with it. I may just find one nearby and get something in person. Thanks for the suggestion though!

You can always make some with common stuff like mint and lavender and chamomile, also ginkgo leaves are good for anxiety.

I just love the stuff. There are so many more flavours available loose leaf than you find bagged. Then again, I live in England, and know a few good shops selling predominantly loose leaf tea.

My favourite type of tea is rooibos/ red bush. It isn't technically a true tea, but rather a herbal tea or tisane. I can't tolerate much caffeine, and rooibos naturally contains none so it works well for me! Rooibos chai is my fave.

I'd recommend you try any type of chai/spiced tea you can lay your hands on, really. And loose leaf earl grey/lady grey is usually much nicer than the bags, too.

My family's pretty much switched to loose tea nowadays, there's a really good place called Adiago Teas that sells them much cheaper than Teavana does for smaller amounts, though it's a lot harder to find. The website lets you craft blends as well, they have a "fandom blends" section, too.

I know stores like Adiago sell empty teabags that you can put loose teas in as well, too.

Do you have a David's Tea near you? They sell loose-leaf tea. They're not the cheapest (nor super expensive) but it's great because they basically always have a highlighted tea that they'll make samples of and they're really cool about taking down the big tins of teas so you can smell them and see if they interest you.

It looks like there's one in the same mall as the Teavana near me so I'll have to check them both out hahah, thank you though!

I'm definitely gonna take a better look at Adagio's website, it seems pretty nice honestly, thank you!

Another good option is trying to see if the Teavana/other tea shops near you sell tester boxes. T2 here in Australia sells a few different boxes - one with 10 different flavours of black tea, 10 of herbal & green teas. They're usually just the right amount of tea to make one pot with, too.

My husband has had pretty good luck with The Tea and Spice Exchange loose leaf teas. He's rather picky about his tea and is unhappy with most American tea options. He's from England (i.e. Tea Snob). If I remember correctly, their tins are not too expensive and they have several different styles.

I like Teavana's selection even though they are expensive. I've picked up things from my local tea shop, usually whatever smells like winter, fall, or dessert flavors are good. I picked up some loose leaf tea at a vitamin shop if you can believe it. It is supposed to be a weight loss tea, but it smells like fruit loops, so that's why I bought it. Even if you have a local farmer's market nearby, they might sell loose leaf ingredients like chamomile, lavender, or rose petals that you can mix with something plain you get at the grocery store.

I love purple and plushies and animals!

: Asian markets will sell loose leaf tea in a designated section. It can be in tins, gift boxes, vacuum-sealed bags, or glass jars. I don't know all the brands. I don't buy from Teavana because of the higher price and I've typically only drank tea I've gotten as a gift.
