For those of you with lots of pets and all different TC themes... how do you keep up? With new item releases and making sure you don't miss anything that could be added to your pets treasures?

When new items come out, I try to take a minute and carefully think "which pets might need this for their treasure?" But I still end up either forgetting about one (or more) of my pets, or completely spacing what the item could be used for altogether.

For example I saw the new and took it at face value- "oh a brain, my pet that collects brains will have that." then hours later I look again at it and think, sad brain... It could be a representation of depression or a general sad/pessimistic/melancholy attitude that applies to more than one of my pets. Then I realize that I need to get more and more of this one item.

Just wondering how people manage to think about ALL their pets properly when they see a new item... or if people have the same problem as I do.

I think everyone has trouble keeping track to some extent, for me personally, all of my pets are characters, so the more I know the characters, the easier it is to find a fitting TC. Beryline is my only pet that I actively "collect" things for, but it's more like I think it's cute so I put it in her tc haha

i...... i kind of don't xD

when i see a new item i want for a tc i don't even think about it tbh if it inspires me i just toss it in there but since i have so many pets and my interest kinda fluctuates between them, sometimes i just don't think that x item could also fit x pet lol i haven't touched some of my pets in years and sometimes forget they even exist okay ; D ;

all my pets are characters too, and I collect specific things that are related to them/their interests/hobbies, and it can be very difficult to keep track of it all hehe. Especially when a character is more fleshed out and can't be confined to just one interest/theme. It is easier when it's something simple like "all brain items", but it can get out of hand for deeper characters that have 12 different themes in one tc + any item that might remind me of them and that is not an exaggeration.

I periodically go to subetalodge and sort by newest and search for items I may have missed the first time.

Maybe I should take some time to write down all themes for each of my pets and consult that list when new items come out...

A lot of my pets are OCs or fan characters, so I'm familiar enough with all of them that I know when I see a suitable TC item. There are a few I haven't decided on a theme for yet, and sometimes I see an item that strikes me as fitting, but I need to think about it. I don't usually have trouble keeping tack of everyone though.

Some of my characters and non-characters have TC items. So far, I've only been collecting for Aurianne. Her TC has cost me a fortune! I still need the two new items from this months collection items.

I spend HOURS on SubetaLodge looking up prospective TC items. I check a shit ton of different keywords to find ones that I may have missed or not known about. My TC's are organized by very specific themes, and they have a particular aesthetic, so I have a clear picture of what I want for each one. Whenever new items are released, I scan through very quickly and do a mental checklist. I have 58 pets, but only about 25 TC's I'm actively working on, which makes it easier to remember themes :)

I also keep my WL categorized by pet TC's, so every few days I make sure the items are in the appropriate category, and everything is kept up to date.

It does get a bit overwhelming, but it's my fave thing to do on Subeta, and I'll probably never be "finished" because of that.

For me, I usually get an urge to look at or add to TCs during spurts of inspiration for one pet at a time. For items I'm not sure exist but feel they may fit well with the theme, I look up a bunch of different key words on subetalodge so I can view all of the images together instead of using subeta's search function, simply for accuracy purposes. Just looking at various items may give me ideas for other trinkets that would be suitable, whether I hadn't thought of it before or didn't know it was a thing on site.

That being said, most of my pets who are still 'in the works' with their bios get more attention than those who I have finished describing.

I try to keep my TC themes as separate and specific as possible to avoid overlap but with how big I like my TCs (hundreds to thousands of items) its pretty much unavoidable.

Lusitania, Itaska, and Tavore are the ones most likely to suffer overlap. The relevant bits of their TCs are Lu = fancy food + 99% of alcohol, Itaska = convenience store type of food but way higher quality, and Tavore = carnival food. When it comes to things like cakes, cookies, and cupcakes its sometimes hard to decide between Lu and Itaska. Usually I'll look really close at the item and decide if its too fancy for Itaska or if it would suit them both (yay....). Itaska and Tavore sometimes overlap with stuff like corn dogs and hot dogs. I try to keep Tavore's food looking lower quality so sometimes that helps keep the overlap at bay. My new rule is "seriously no one else can ever like food this is too annoying". So that should help the problem from getting any more ridiculous!

Willy Wonka is gonna be a huge pain to do an actual TC for after doing Oompa Loompa. Oompa's basically covers the entire movie and takes some of the ideas I originally wanted to incorporate into Wonka's so idk. I'm sure there'll be lots more overlap than there already is when/if I ever do more with it.

The worst is usually when people send me random WL items. Half the time I can't actually find them and have no idea what I WLed them under or what I meant them for - TC? Personal enjoyment from a cute item (which goes in a specific TC)? Wardrobe? Collections, maybe? It can take a while for me to figure it out sometimes. Other times I give up and do the "default" (wardrobe/collection) >.>

ugh I have the same problem. Sometimes items jump right out at me, but usually I completely overlook something at first.

Sometimes I just go look through all the special currency shops or poke around in SubetaLodge to see if I missed anything (especially when I'm working on a new pet)... but yeah, I have no system for it, lol.

...and looking back at the other posts on this thread, I feel like such an amateur XD I guess the only TC that I've tried super hard on is Tak's (all Stephen King-related items, skulls, desert critters, and anything else that I can connect to the books Tak is in).

I have a couple Chinese themed pets and with quite a few of them, items inevitably overlap.

If it's a CW I'll usually just limit it to one treasure for one pet because CWs are expensive for more than one treasure, but if I need several copies of a non-cw item for more than one I just wishlist it on both of their individual pet wishlists. It's why my wishlist is this jumbled mess because I keep track of items I need for individual pets via my wishlist mostly.

All of mine are separate individual storylines though so I usually have a combination of oh, this will definitely work for their wishlist and oh, this looks cute in subetalodge so I just impulse buy it and chuck it in a pet's wishlist.

The closest thing I have to a system is that whenever new items are released, if I like how they look I buy all of them and hoard them. Then when I am inspired to work on a TC I start my search in my own vault. Rarely an item comes out and I think, oh my gosh X absolutely NEEDS this item, but most of the time I will get in an inspiration fugue at a later date and mass add to the TCs. Which means it's easier to just hoard items I like ahead of time. :P

My wishlist categories for my pets are usually just really expensive TC items I'm not sure I want to spend money on. A couple pets have treasures that I love putting expensive items in (Baharonaut and Yeoman for example), but some I wonder if the sP is worth the impact of that single item.
