I am so happy right now. For so long, I mourned the loss of my precious Paint.Net when I switched from a PC to a Mac. I absolutely adore my Mac; the only thing I didn't like was that to use Paint.Net again, I'd have to download a whole mess of crap just to use that one program. It wasn't worth it to me, so I messed around with some free programs online and didn't really care for any of them. So I went back to working on traditional drawings, which I love doing, but I still missed my digital work. It's been about a year since I got this computer and a year since I've been away from digital art.
Flash forward to a few days ago, when I was bored and decided to try another search for Paint.net-type program for Mac. And almost right away I found this program called Pinta. It was said to be almost a mirror copy of Paint.net. I shrugged and downloaded it, figured it was worth a try, but didn't really have any hope for it. Did a small ink sketch to try out different features on it and suffice to say...IT WORKS. It really is almost an exact copy of Paint.net. The things that weren't the same, I was easily able to figure out. I am just...I don't think happy covers it. I feel free, lol. I feel like some massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I can properly art the way I want again.
So. People with a Mac who are looking for a simple, good digital program, it's Pinta. insert happy dance here
