I'm trying to get this with the , which is r99, but it doesn't register. Is there something I'm supposed to do aside from letting my pet play with it?

did you make sure your pet actually played with it? if they are at full happiness they'll say it's boring and won't actually use the item. if it's still in your inventory, then it didn't work.

try using it on a pet without a minion, or remove the minion from one pet and wait for their happiness to go down.
