Here is all the information I know about Dark Goddess Rod. History: It was first a reading contest prize and later move to the crystal shop. People later start complaining there wasn't much light protection apart from Mirroring Shield of Brilliance, since it was hard to obtain. So, it was release as achievement once you hit 22k stats, which is now the light cap of stats. Usefulness: Considering god weapons are now almost impossible to obtain. Demigod weapons are now a must on any set. A decent demigod weapon usually contains 30+ damage icons, 70+ block icon of something, 5%-10% healing, and maybe a buff/blessing/curse. Which is practically what this weapon delivers. From there is based on the stat it covers and what other weapons cover light. The only other weapon that decently covers light while doing the things above is the god weapon, Malerias Staff of Destruction. The Ancestral Unrest covers light too but its not too reliable. Which makes it a must for must sets. Price: Before it was release as a light cap achievement, I think it used to be around 400m. However, after that it went down to 200m300m. (Some even hit 50m in usershops.) Slowly they just stop appearing in the trading market as the game keeps pushing people to battle with their pets to obtain not battle relate rewards. Seems like lately one hit the usershop for 100m and someone sold it. However, I feel it's still around 200m300m

Extra: The Dark Goddess Amulet can be combo with that weapon. Making it a cheap 50% fire blocker with decent damage.

And thats all I know about it....

Back before they were an anchievment prize, I would buy them for 250 and sell for 500mil in addiction to what quest said.

If I were to actively try and sell one right now, I would probably ask for 250-300mil. People tend to undervalue things based on historical prices without taking into account inflation over time.

If someone were to mail me and ask me how much I want (since I don't really plan on selling mine) I would ask for 1.5bil+.

It is an achievement prize, but its also in a lot of peoples effective end game sets since the original gods are getting offers of 10-15bil and still not finding sellers. There are only about 20 Mstaffs, then DGR is second best to Mstaff.

The 250-500mil range was also often when people would pay 8-12mil for CSC. Pure sP is worth a lot less than what it used to be.

[edit]

Look at rocket launchers post. I hadn't seen them go up on shop search in a long time, but apparently he has. I don't check as often.

Probably 100-150m. I occasionally see them in shops and trades for 100m. The achievement gradually gives them out.

While it's a tier 10 weapon and block 90 light, currently light block isn't as necessary as other types. Plus, the heal is only an average of 6.5 percent (5 to 8 percent). There will probably be more dual block weapons in the future which compete with the DGR, recently Malhuili being one.
