Fifth term's event is upon us and it looks like a fantastic one! A great giveaway modeled after NCAA March Madness, except a million times more Wizarding-like because it's Quidditch instead of basketball! I'll list the giveaway and other related activities under challenges because they do give house points (and lots of them!). Keep an eye out for mini-activities as well in The British and Irish Quidditch League Tournament topic!
PS, if you want to look back on how the "new" teams came to be, check out this topic from the original group challenge (Group Activity - HA Challenge - Quidditch Teams) or even the Ravenclaw working topic (Group Activity Discussion - HA Challenge) that produced our very own Belfast Bludgeoners! This is not meant to put pressure on anyone to pick Belfast - just have fun choosing your brackets!

Hello Ravenclaws! You may have noticed that we're having several forum issues. Admin powers are a bit wonky, pages are not fully loading, threads only load up to a certain page, and people's posts are disappearing. We are aware of the current issues so don't worry about deadlines. We're hoping that these issues will be resolved as soon as possible. Keith has been working on the forums since yesterday.
On a separate note, some of you may have already noticed that the student roster is currently locked. The admins and I are working on some new special ability restrictions as well as defining characteristics of the special abilities we allow. Please refrain from using any special abilities until further notice. I'm hoping that the page will be set up by the end of the week. I know some of you have special abilities that are crucial to your character's existence so please comment me about it.
HI EVERYONE!!! You'll note the second post has now been updated with the newest information. I had it looked over so as not to have to ping everyone so many times. Please give a welcome to our newest Ravenclaws,

What's this about special powers?
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
We're trying to come up with a more concrete description of special abilities. We're hoping that members will not immediately choose a rare special ability without thinking it out. We're also trying to avoid having 11 year old students with very advanced skills (beyond their years). For example, it doesn't make sense for a first year student to be an Animagus when according to Dumbledore Animagi only make up a small fraction of the wizarding population and with it being a very complex transfiguration.
My character's ability is a huge part of, well his character. X3 But he is no where close to having a firm grasp on it, so I don't think we will have much trouble with the limitations and such. I like the idea, it sort of levels the playing field for everyone. Also makes for interesting RP I'm thinkin. n.n
And there are classes offered at Hogwarts for animagi, but that's like last year. Also I think you have to keep some sort of leaf in your mouth for like a month? x.x Haha, okie~ Occlumency never really gets shown anyhow. 8shrug*

I did update the bulletin post, but Subeta seems to be having some odd cache/updating issues, as the edit isn't currently showing. I hopefully am not double-pinging as I was going to see how the post looked before adding the ping back in, so at least there's that. xD
So to paraphrase my comments (I think!) - congrats to everyone who won something in the 250 member giveaway (I loved looking at everyone's GIFs!) and special congrats to Elune who name-changed to now be the amazing !
And then also make sure to take a look at the Word Scramble, Trivia, and Rainy Day HA challenges that close at various times this week. They're pretty fun!
