Hello battlers, plz help me. I have so many questions. I'd like to be a better battler but I don't even know if I'm doing it right.
Here are my battle pet's current stats.
Level: 366 (currently T6) Strength: 924 Defense: 914 Speed: 262 Health: 1,031 Intelligence: 868 Books Read: 719 AP: 54
He's currently in autotraining for strength, I think. I've heard it's best to stop auto training at T7, is this still a valid assessment? His speed is pretty sad, I ignored speed for a long time. Do I need to train it more/even it out with his other stats? Do I need to autotrain speed?
I try to do my battle quests daily (I kinda got lax over Luminaire because Luminaire, I was too busy with stuff). I can complete 17-20 battle quests, depending on who I get an an opponent (stupid Hustler kicks my ass every time and I eventually just get angry and run away). I put most of my EXP into health with a few for level and speed, since I'm autotraining Strength and Defense, I'm not sure I'm doing this correctly.
My current default battle set is as follows
From what I've seen in others' threads, this is a decent set? Please tell me if it's not! I have a feeling I should get rid of the Rainbow Quill, what should I replace it with?
I also own a which I've heard starts being really useful at T7 and up? Plz advise.
Going forward, do I need to get Shinwa's Temple Shard? Trident of the Banished One? Freezewand of Doom/Reborn Freezewand of Doom? I don't have a lot of money, but now that Luminaire is over I don't mind blowing a bunch on weapons and stuff.
I also own a for when I get to T9 in ten thousand years, I believe I heard that was a good weapon for that tier... is it actually? Should I keep it? What weapons should I be saving for, for later tiers?
My scrolls are:
I can't really afford Aftershocks, what other scrolls can I look into buying? Getting more AP isn't reeeeally an issue, I'm just lazy about buying books and reading. ^^
Thanks in advance for any help!
: I'm still far from a battle expert but lemme give it a shot XD
Personally I never put my EXP into level, because I find it a waste of EXP investment. As you go up in tiers, it costs more to increase your other stats, and if irmc, your progress in Tier 7-8 slows considerably compared to lower tiers, because you're stuck around Level 20 opponents and not strong enough to tackle most opponents from T21-25 (who are more suitable for T9-10), so the cost increases but your EXP income remains the same. Therefore I'd recommend that you invest those EXPs wisely. Now that you're T7, there's no point in autotraining anymore, since you can use that 25 CSC to buy a tome a day and increase your stats besides a couple that you can possibly gain from manually training (and by this I assume that you have just enough time to log on to train your pet once or twice per day).
For weapons, as you grow in tiers, it's always nice to have a wide range of weapons for different opponents, so I'd say just hold on to all of your weaponry. Trident is nice to have, but I've been battling on a budget until recently and still manage to beat up past level 25 without it, so you can always invest that sP into other weapons and wait until the bobbleheads are released again, or when you spot one Trident for sale at a fair price.
I hope it helps a little, and I'm pretty sure other experienced battlers will have insights to offer too :)
Thank you so much for typing all that out!
The only reason I put exp into level is so I don't need to train it in the training center and can keep autotraining lol, I only do one or two points and the rest goes into hp. I'm not quite tier 7 yet, but I have been saving my tomes and other boosters for when I stop autotraining.
Soma Tablets are quite expensive, but I bought Reviver of the Lion (they're the same price) so I don't really mind their price tag, maybe just not right away. Especially if I'm buying a bunch of other stuff.
I think the scrolls are going to bankrupt me, though. Not only the making of them but also the books I need to buy to get my AP up high enough to use them all! Will I need to be swapping scrolls out a lot? Is there a limit to the amount of scrolls I can have in my actual set?
How do you feel about Terra Focujin? I started slowly gathering ingredients for it a million years ago, should I stop?
: Ah, my apologies. I don't autotrain so I'm not familiar with the strategies.
As for the scrolls, no you don't have to when BQ-ing. I swapped out only for special opponents against whom I didn't have good defence, e.g. Scary Singer and his wind attack, but as I grew in Def and esp. AP I basically stuck with just the default set, because swapping out scrolls for every opponent would be too much haha. There is currently no limit to the number of scrolls you can equip in a set, ofc as far as your AP allows.
Your last two questions are interesting ones. I've made both Terra and Divine, and for some odd reason the Divine has stuck around with me for longer. Perhaps it was my build at the time: my HP was twice as high as my every other stat, and at some point I figured out that I benefited more from Divine's def and heal than Terra heal and attack, and survived longer in battle by using the former. I guess we can always calculate the heal and def of both scrolls by using the formula for def and heal percentage, but I'm too lazy for math so... I don't use my Terra now, so if you want to test it out I can lend you both my Divine and Terra. Just equip them when fighting the same opponents and notice the damage you receive per turn versus the heal per turn and you should have a better idea of which one to make.
That's super generous of you! I too would be far too lazy to do any math. XD How many AP are they each? I have 54 currently, if I unequip Feather would that be enough to equip both of them?
: They're 8AP each. Unequipping one Feather would be sufficient enough to equip both Divine and Terra in the same set, so you won't have to swap one out for the other.
Just a sec and I'll send them over to you. I'm not using them so you can keep them for a couple of days.
Each battler has their own opinion about stat training and if it should be done evenly or if one should be built up more than the rest. Many battlers will eventually start to boost strength. This is because they more health you have, the longer you can outlast your opponent. Strength is important because the stronger your pet, the sooner you can end battles. Defense works with health in that the more icons you can defend against, the more you can heal. Speed determines if your opponent will crit hit you or make you more likely to crit hit your opponent and double your damage. If your strength is high enough to withstand the damage from crit hits, then you don't have to worry about boosting speed. I would keep training speed though otherwise everyone is going to crit hit you if you leave it at 262.
With the price of CSC the way it is, autotraining is in my opinion a complete waste of money. You can gain more stats from mass converting amulets to tomes than from auto training. Unless you have a ton of CSC and nothing to do with it, I would rely on just the training center and battle quests for stats. If you're still not gaining as many stats as you would like, then I would buy boosters as well. Again, how you want to distribute your stats is up to you. I like to train stats evenly in the training center and then use battle exp to train health more.
I would definitely upgrade your weapons once you hit T7. I'm not sure how far you are from T7 but I would definitely consider swapping out the shuriken, rainbow quill and kusarigama for and . The blunderbuss you can actually use now since it's T6 and does a nice amount of water icons with a nice fire block for its tier. The comet flash is lackluster but it is a scaling weapon and becomes a lot better when you have at least 2,500 defense. The is also a nice weapon that has a beefy attack and the chance to steal. The minotaur knocker starts out weak but becomes stronger as your pet goes up in tiers. It's an affordable alternative to the ornate hook swords but the hook swords are definitely better by the time you get to T10. Here is how the knocker scales:
knocker stats
Tier 6
Attack: 4-6 Physical, 4-5 Dark, 5-7 Earth, 7-9 Light (20-27 icons)
Defense: 7 Earth
Other: Heals 5-6%
Tier 7 Attack: 5-7 Physical, 4-5 Dark, 6-8 Earth, 10 Light (25-30 icons) Defense: 7 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 5-8%
Tier 8 Attack: 6-8 Physical, 5-7 Dark, 8-10 Earth, 9-11 Light (28-36 icons) Defense: 8-10 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 5-8%
Tier 9 Attack: 7-9 Physical, 6-8 Dark, 8-10 Earth, 10-12 Light (32-39 icons) Defense: 10 or 15 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 6-8%
Tier 10 Attack: 7-9 Physical, 6-8 Dark, 8-10 Earth, 10-12 Light (32-39 icons) Defense: 10 or 15 or 90 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 6%-9%
Tier 11 Attack: 7-9 Physical, 6-8 Dark, 8-10 Earth, 10-12 Light (32-39 icons) Defense: 15 or 90 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 6%-9%
Tier 12-13 Attack: 7-9 Physical, 6-8 Dark, 8-10 Earth, 10-12 Light (32-39 icons) Defense: 30 or 90 Earth Blessing: Aura of the Minotaur; Blocks 3 Fire, 3 Magma; Lasts 3 Turns Other: Heals 6%-9%
The three weapons you listed are not necessary. The freezewand is nice to try and chain freeze an opponent, but will not be powerful enough when you are T8. The trident is nice because it scales, does a lot of water damage and has a nice curse and a nice blessing. The weapon only blocks a lot of wind, which is not a commonly dealt icon. Although the blessing gives you a water, earth and magma block, it does not activate enough to make it reliable. Although it's a great weapon if you can afford it, it's not essential. The temple shard can give you a nice advantage for a turn, but is also not necessary. As for the bludgeon, I would definitely keep it for the the block and the % heal.
In regards to higher tiers, your opponents will start to deal more damage over a smaller range of icons. Your opponents will start to deal a lot of 3 or 4 icons and not much of anything else. As you face more and more opponents, you will want to start having weapons that provide some % heal and block a lot of one or two icons. The more weapons you have to block different icons, the better.
Feather explosion is a good alternative to the aftershocks scroll if it is outside of your budget. The top infinite use scrolls I would say are tasselled aegis, skelly, ocean currents and aftershocks. After that, I would say comes feather explosion, mana surge, maelstrom and possibly triple threat. Cobalt eternal and santuria exodin scrolls are great to cover gaps in your armory. Freezing scrolls like shriek of despair and psycho smasher are also very useful.
Thank you for all your advice! I'm not entirely sure how far I am from T7 either, but I'll probably stop autotraining soon. I did buy the Blunderbuss on ' advice. I will look into the Turkey Feather and Bone Dagger, but I'll probably wait on the Comet Flash... it'll probably be a good while before I have 2500 anything. XD
I put most of the scrolls you suggested to my wishlist, I'll probably break down and buy Aftershocks soon, and then I'll be broke for a while. XD
Thanks again!
Just going to go a little more in depth on the scroll options since my last post was brief on scrolls because it was so long. Ocean currents is nice for the water damage but in regards to the other three of the scrolls I like best, you really only need one of them. The aftershocks is the more affordable option of the three. Mana surge and maelstrom will be very hard to find but triple threat will be a lot easier and a lot cheaper. If you buy the aftershocks, then you don't have to worry about skelly, TA, mana, maelstrom or triple threat. perilous whirlpool scrolls are great affordable fire blocking scrolls with a chance to freeze. Terrafocujin I've hard has helped people for it's 10% heal but it has no defense and the attack is severely lacking so it might only be a good option in a few cases. I've used it before and found it most effective when my opponent was frozen and used it to heal.
The turkey quill I like a lot and you may be able to use it to help you win the fruit bone dagger if you have the opponent that drops it unlocked.
