To every other person who comes in to my work and wishes me a Happy New Year: Yes, it's a lovely sentiment, but do you not see that I'm working right now? I'm not having a lovely New Years' Eve, and I know you don't know that I also work tomorrow morning, but that means I'm going to have a crappy New Year's Day as well. Since I work in the morning, no partying for this girl tonight.

To Certain Coworkers: Do not yell at me for doing my job. When I call out a page, you answer it. Politely. You know damn well that if you don't answer within 3 minutes, I have to call it out again. I am not psychic and I can't possibly know that you tried to answer, your walkie didn't work, and you're already there. I'm doing my job and you need to do yours. And we are all adults who supposedly have manners, so let's use them, mmkay?

To Certain Residents: You are not the center of the universe. You are not even the center of this building. You need to calm your panties and realize we have 71 other residents to care for and it might take a few minutes for us to get to you. I know you have problems and I respect that, but realize that we can't come at the snap of your fingers.

To Certain Family Members: Do not fucking cuss me out when I call you to tell you your loved one is having a problem. For fucks sake, you pay us to care for them. Calling you to tell you about a possible problem and to ask your preferred course of action is part of that. You know that. Don't be a fuck about it.

Everyone wished me a Merry Christmas while I was working late-shift - nothing you can do about it. %'D

Some residents will always find something to nag about and a lot of them (and their relatives as well of course) think they are the only ones living in the house and that everyone from the personal is only there grant their wishes 24/7 - to make up for those gems there are the few who just give you the feeling that you aren't doing your job because you are dumb and masochistic but because you are awesome.

Yeah, that I realize. But I'm in a bitchy mood this morning, lol. Probably because I worked Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and now New Year's Eve and Day.

And yes, there are those few residents and family members who make me feel good for doing my job. But the idiots are outweighing the good ones right now. :P

That's tough indeed. I worked over Christmas which in my case means I have off on New Year's Eve and Day - next year it would be the other way around.

LOL same here! We have some people here I could write books about...X'D We have a quote in my language about dealing with people like them. It says "Just nod, smile and think //Asshole.//" and that's what I do.

And I'd love nothing more than to call my cousin's employer and tell them that his high school diploma is faked. (Backstory: he took his wife's high school diploma and copied it, put his name in and everything. The same cousin threatened my father after my maternal grandmother died two months after my Mom nearly did. And we were supposed to somehow take my Mom up to see her mother??? UHM????)

I don't even want to think about that. shudders But I wish they'd just stop. The overwhelming amount of utter ignorance in the world right now is simply painful.

I so felt that sentiment. Thankfully the majority of people I talked to on NYE and NY were also working so it didn't bother me so much when they wished a happy new year b/c they were working too, either that night or the next day. The one thing I couldn't stand for was the whole "see you next year" thing. That's only clever for like one year.

The worst was Christmas, when I'm surrounded by people who have 2 incomes or make way more than me. It's always "how was your Christmas, what did you get, where did you go" blah blah blah. I just want to shove a hand in their face and say, "you know what, not everyone has the money to do or give things for Christmas; Not everyone has a family they can either see or that they get along with; And not everyone resides in your class of income so STFU".

People are just oblivious of others outside their little circle and it really gets to me, sometimes.
