So every year on this day we get coal based items from the Darkheart Phantom, why the break in tradition? (Not complaining about the essence tho)

I too want my coal. It's a Luminaire tradition!
The whole point was to not get coal this year. Instead we get the essence of melody to compensate for all the lag and downtimes.
I thought it was because 2016 was such a shit year. I guess this makes more sense haha
i want coal too! so will we get double essence this year, the point is not the essence but the lack of a third item and the second item being a pink plushie handed by DHP themself.
It's not the first time we've only gotten two items, I'm fairly certain. We're just not supposed to get a coal item this year.
Pretty sure that was a glitch. That should have been Havarr's image, not DHP.

I think the servers just didn't pull completely. I tested it on my dev earlier yesterday but wasnt' here at midnight to triple check. I've pushed a minor change that hopefully updates it right?
We basically didn't want to do coal this year. 2016 has been a trash fire garbage year and we wanted something sweet.

That's not why at all. You guys already got a sweet bonus for that. This was purely because we wanted to not make 2016 even more horrible.

Anyu the Care Bear is chasing DAARRKheart around in circles. The Anyu's a better runner so that twerp will be caught and gone by the end of the day :P
I was pleasantly surprised to see such a cute Anyu give such nice gifts. I like the coal wearables but these are definitely a good alternative in my mind. x]

2016 has literally been a hell of a year (not in a good way) so I was very pleased about not getting coal today, haha! I adore the scarf! Thank you, Subeta Staff!

I don't even need an Essence but I am thankful for this gift and that we didn't get a coal. 2016 has been nothing but a huge pile of crap and I am glad that it will be over in a couple of days.
This year has probably gone down as one of my least favorite years in a while. 2016 has been a crap year, to say the least. I was wondering why I got DHP and then Harvarr when I collected at midnight, but that graphic mentioned above is great for explaining.
Anyway, I'm not going to complain about lack of coal, especially since the scarf is so pretty.
