We all know and love our Ontra Librarian, Alexander. The book he is holding changes appearance. During Fireside the cover sported a flame symbol, and in the last few days it was changed to a snowflake quite possibly to reflect winter or Luminaire. This may have happened before and I didn't notice, but it made me wonder. Could Alexander be more than he appears? Is his biography a carefully crafted cover story?

Is he similar to "The Author" character in Once Upon a Time, or Bastion from The Never Ending Story? Could he be reading Subeta's story, making the world of Subeta appear by simply reading the book? As it unfolds is he aware that he has the power in his hands? The only person in Subeta who knows is Elwood...seeing past the fourth wall boundaries of the magical book that Alexander is reading.

That's just my speculation, and the book's seasonal changes made me wonder if it is plausible.

He is really just ten fairies within a costume.

Thanks for posting the images of him :) It could be a different book that he's reading....but I still think he's changing Subeta magically somehow. Altering the story line here and there....

I didn't really notice until Fireside, but only because that book looked familiar! They're all actually books that exist. I don't know about the Morostide one. Maybe ?

Oh that's really cool, thanks for posting the actual books he's reading. His book must not be magical, just stuff from his library. I'm still going to keep an eye on him though! :)

He has to be the most intelligent NPC on Subeta. It would be great to have a plot event surrounding him. ^_^

I noticed this the very first time his book changed, and I recognized the book. I thought it was such a lovely little detail! Kudos to you guys for thinking of it. Things like this really show how much effort you guys put into the site. <3

Yes! Caught that too, just finished Once Upon a Time binge. If that were so Elwood is quite The Author's "character." Just outfit alone at his cutest he resembles a grown John Darling. Otherwise Emma in a ponytail (the texture) and glasses has always seemed "ottery"

He's more likely Bastian because mention of The Author in OUAT s4 is from 2014-2015

I remember bringing this up in the SB :) loved looking at his book changes but was surprised no one else had noticed.

Wow, I love your idea! I noticed the books changing for different holidays or themes around the site but I never could have thought of such a cool background story. ^_^

I think the mystery around Alexander could continue. We have two named characters that are Ontras in Subeta, Alexander and Selina. Selina is the Angelic Ontra healer who runs Medicontra in the Sacred Lands. Are they related? Or could they be destined to meet and have cute tiny baby Ontra pups! (Babette's children can use some new friends!!)

I never noticed the book change. What a great little detail! I have to collect those books now. And I think that's a wonderful idea that his reading the books shape the world. Brilliant!

Seriously this is both adorable and a great little small detail to see updated. Of course the book loving ontra would just keep reading more and more books (and rereading things around the season)

I know there are things that I always want to go back to around certain time frames so that's a great little addition (and of course still must always love the morostide costumes that all the npc's dress up with)
