It would be really useful if we could hide categories in our wishlist so that only we can see them. I know many users (myself included) use their wishlists to track items for purposes other than gifting. Being able to hide categories would save our friends the time and trouble of looking in categories that are superfluous and it would make our wishlists look cleaner.

As I've said other times this has come up, I strongly support this.

I like to use my wishlist to highlight items for myself for a lot of different reasons - stuff I don't necessarily want as gifts. Its not bad to get them as gifts, but there's stuff that I've not added to my wishlist, that I did want to highlight, because I really don't want to get them as gifts.

We can label categories, "don't gift" or something like that, but that just doesn't cut it when people do wishlist searches because those searches don't bring up the category, just the fact the item is wishlisted.
