Seriously contemplating it and because someone will ask "Why would you do this?"
My eyebrows don't look related by the idea of "eyebrows are sisters, not twins." Mine are more like distantly removed second cousins of second cousins; one looks decent, the other just looks... Like roadkill. They look awkward, even with knowing that the face isn't symmetrical, etc etc etc. The eyebrow trick, where you line them up with your nose-pupil-eyelid, doesn't work out well for me. I hate it, its embarrassing and distracting for me. Yes, I know, it's just eyebrows but I'd like to at least feel better than I do normally D:
Before anyone says, get them professionally done--I'm really not able to afford the little luxury of even brow threading (it's like ~$12 here, minus tip) and the last time I did have them professionally done, I had let them grow out to their worst because I had planned for this in advance, so the lady doing them would have more than enough to work with! I just said "I don't want super thin brows, but I also don't want Cara Delevingne brows." Just that in between of brows. Yeah, no... I had to go home and pluck a few hairs off so they could try to look a little more related: not have one arched and the other basically straight but ended up with them being quite a bit thin for my liking. (Don't get me started on having literally orange crap on them because of the complimentary brow fill. I hate Benefit sometimes...)
So the brows are likely going buh-bye. SO!
Has anyone shaved off their brows, either completely/fully or partially? Any tips? Advice? I know it'll itch, but they also itch when they grow in from plucking anyway.
DO YOU HAVE A BROW HORROR STORY?! Cause I wanna know :D
I once accidentally shaved a bit of my brow off. Was going for a slight clean up around the edges and shaved too much off and it was very obvious. Never again, haha!
I have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with my brows, though now that I know how to manage them and keep them somewhat tidy it's a lot better. I don't blame you for wanting to shave yours off though, then it gives you the freedom to kind of do whatever you want with them. I was going to suggest microblading might be something to look at, but if money is tight than it's probably not going to be an option as it can be quite expensive to have done.
Oh dear.XD I can imagine doing that. Iirc, I think I accidentally shaved a tiny line or took a tiny chunk out of my brow when I was in elementary school. My friend made fun of me for it, I remember that much! :P
Microblading scares me because I once saw it described as "cutting your skin to deposit ink underneath." :| Poor, alarming description.
It's so awkward as a kid/teenager and you're just trying to make something cooperate and then you fuck it up -- you pray no one can tell, but everyone can...
Yeah, it's basically like a form of tattooing. My friend actually had it done because her brows are/were basically non-existent. They look really nice and totally natural! I was really impressed.
Best advice would be to not go full on Mona Lisa painting. XD There are such things as little eyebrow trimmers and they're very useful if you just want to trim and tame.
I have a scar splitting my right eyebrow so it already looks weird, lmao. I bashed my eyebrow open on my parents' cedar chest when I was like three years old.

Hello, yes, I shaved both of my eyebrows off completely a few years ago.
Pros: My ugly, sparse eyebrows weren't there looking awful every time I looked in the mirror. It suited my androgynous space alien aesthetic. I could draw some on if I felt like it. Everyone stared at me when I walked in a room and not even in a bad way. I didn't have to shave them every day, they grew so slow.
Cons: They weren't any better when they grew back and it took several weeks before they looked okay at all. The growing-back phase was horrible since all the hairs grew at different rates.
"Then you love it up." Stupid filter.XD But oh yes, I know that feeling. I know eyebrows have a purpose, but I wish they would cooperate a little bit more.
I'm totally okay with tattooing, but face tattoos freak me out a little bit. Mainly in such a delicate area, like the lash line and brow ridge. But if it makes someone happy and makes their life easier, awesome! I wish I was in the no brow/invisi-brow club. I blame genetics. /shakes fist at
Nooooo. I'm not the biggest fan of walking around without eyebrows, unless its for SFX makeup. Some people pull it off as part of their daily look. I really probably don't carry that look well.XP Unfortunately, trimming even just a teeny bit--literally the ends of a few hairs very carefully--creates gaps. Don't know why... I wish it were as simple as trimming/taming. orz
How did that happen?! D: Especially at 3! I'd be running around panicking that my kid hit a wooden chest.
Ah, I see. -v-
I tripped. Parents freaked, I went to the ER, had a butterfly clip and it scarred. XD It didn't help that I got glasses later that year because "oh, btw, your daughter is nearly blind in her left eye."

Stupid eyebrows :D
Ffffffff.. Jeez that bites. At least it was only a butterfly clip. But screw glasses wearing. Why are they dirt magnets!
If I let my bloody brows grow out full I'd look like G1 Megatron and the horrid unibrow. XD
I totally understand the unrelated, one is arched normally the other is like this wavy thing that both want to go across my temples too! XD Waxing is 12 so yeah, in times of need I slip the razor pass them. The trick, don't shave them off. XD
Use the razor for the outer edges and try to get it pointed, then the middle over the nose. The upper n' lower parts, I find are harder and I often use my husbands hair trimmer for them if I get that desperate. It's a small hair shaver Oo I dunno exactly the name of it.
Or if you're good with a Mach 3, ease it on its side along the bottom, and hope for the best? Or pluck OMG THE PAIN!!!! XD plucking, owch.

I got my eyebrows waxed when I was young (pre-teenish maybe? I don't remember) because they were very dark and bushy. I remember plucking them with the upkeep and I plucked the ends off. Know what? They NEVER grew back. So now I deal with no end eyebrows lol.
They pretty much stayed their waxed-shape. I just pluck every now and again, but I love my eyebrows 8D
Mine are weird too. One is higher than the other and just has a nicer shape to it. I've been doing facial exercises (that sounds so weird) off and on for a few years to help lift my lower brow and it's helped some. I just wish my face were symmetrical. Wah.
I have one brow that's higher than other, but nothing on your body is supposed to be perfect.
I have bushy eyebrows I guess? I mean they aren't filled at all but I pluck them out and style them myself. Takes me about 5 minutes every Sunday or so. I'd cry if I were to lose them tbh ... Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
My eyebrows are literally collecting the tears of my forehead 8) (if you get what I mean ...)
I'd be against shaving them off because they tend to grow back totally differently and not at the same time. Some of them can grow at weird angles, very thick and you can even have an ingrown hair ...
I accidentally shaved off part of one when I was trying to trim them years ago... that was fun to keep filling in, but overall wasn't as horrible as it felt at the time.
I have a birth mark over one eyebrow, so the one on that side is a little lower than the other. I've just given up on trying to make them even and just keep them neat :)
I wish you luck with your adventure! Keep them moisturized so your skin doesn't flake when they grow back.
You can use tweezers and shape them yourself. I must admit I am not a fan of drawn on eyebrows.
i have thin, long arched eyebrows and when i was a teenager i used to really hate them because i wanted thick, straight ones (like my brother has, even tho ironically he wishes he had my eyebrows lmao)
ANYWAY i was a dumb teenager who didn't really know anything about anything so i thought shaving off part of them with just a regular one-use razor and shaving cream was a great idea lemme tell you, it wasn't ; D ;
i had to take off my glasses and the sink was so big i couldn't get too close to the mirror and couldn't really see what i was doing. after shaving a bit i realized they were asymmetrical so i shaved off a bit more and after doing this a while i realized how badly i had fucked up on the left one, and even if they were asymmetrical i didn't want to make matters worse so i just left them orz
okay they did grow back in like 2 months but it was still awful and i felt super self-conscious about them at the time
also did i mention getting cut pretty badly as well that day i learned just how much eyebrows could bleed welp
LOL I had to look that up, oh lawd XD I'm okay with plucking and the rate/length they grow (maybe a half a cm two days after plucking every stray hair I can get?), a razor wouldn't get at it. Those supah fine hairs at the verrrrry end, that grow towards the hairline/temples, would be caught by a razor though. Also, it sounds like your husband has a precision trimer!
The shape is largely the problem though, not so much how much hair is there :,D
That's so funny but horrible that it never grew back. At least filling in the end is decently easy!
I already get mildly ingrown hairs on my brows, like my brow hairs are almost too soft/stubby to pierce that last layer of dead skin? I already have weird angles in my brows XD
The flaking makes me itch so I try to keep that whole area moisturized.
Already doing that and its been going forever horrible. I'm pretty much used to people drawing eyebrows, but not horrible old school brows.
Luckily, I do have a small mirror I can use for it--I also wear glasses D: I'm basically blind without them. I know how bad eyebrows bleed! Partially from plucking so very minor bleeds but also from being hit in the face. Had the screw for my glasses scratch like just below my eyebrow when I was a kid. :/ Could have blinded me...
I don't do anything with my face. It happened though lol
My eyebrows drive me nuts but I don't think I could ever shave them :x Mine are definitely different, one is pretty much perfect and the other is a lot shorter. I have sparse spots in them (which isn't helped by the fact that my eyebrow hairs are dark brown, so any skin showing through is obvious) and I also get really long hairs on my brows, and sometimes the hairs curl. It's crazy. So I trim my brows and keep them groomed, but I really want to save up for microblading. That will help fill in areas that are sparse and just shape them a little more. But it's so expensive :/
