Yeah, so it's not even officially winter yet and tomorrow, much of the US is going to be inundated with the white stuff. No, not cocaine you dummies, SNOW. I know some of you are already dealing with it now. We're going to get the whole mess tonight/tomorrow. They're saying up to 9 inches, but I'm thinking more like 6-7, which is more than enough. Of course, I pulled the short straw and I'm scheduled to work all this weekend. It's supposed to start lightly tonight at 4:30 PM, which is of course when I get off work. Then it's supposed to be heaviest tomorrow morning...when I go to work. Someone want to tell me why the person who lives the furthest from the job has to work when the storm hits? I can't switch a shift either - already tried. Oh well. Let's just hope we all live through this.

Here's the mess according to the Weather Channel.

[edit] Got here alive. It's still snowing like a mofo out there. Had to clear about 4 inches of it off my car this morning and they're saying the heaviest part isn't even here yet. My crazy friends are all off today and they're going to attempt to go into town because, like I said, they're crazy. But they're bringing me a hot oreo milk tea if they make it. ^_^

Ugh, having to go out during a snow storm is the worst. Personally, I think it is a bit ridiculous you have to go in when you live the furthest away. Such is life I guess. Stay warm and safe!

I'm sorry you have to go out tomorrow. I would think that if the weather is going to be that bad, your work wouldn't even be open.

I'm in Buffalo, but that explains the snow we've gotten the last couple days. There was a Lake Effect snow warning yesterday, but it got cancelled earlier today.

In any case, considering some of the accidents I've seen( my apartment room window faces the highway) please, please stay safe and if you can't make it due to icy conditions on the road, let your boss know.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

We had one day of snow so far - it didn't do much.

They say tomorrow's supposed to be bad, but I don't buy it. I don't think we've had a big snowstorm here in WA since the early 2000's.

Tasmania? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A HUNTSMAN SPIDER IN PERSON?? I want a pet one. I'd make a leash for it and call it Fluffy and me and Fluffy would go for walks and scare the pants off the neighbors. XD

Right now I hate my local weatherman. And the national weather institute.

Just finished shoveling the 6 inches we got (Sat overnight) yesterday afternoon (I'm not in that great of shape AND my mom can't shovel because she has TWO really bad knees with a bad shoulder)

Of course it's a rental property, which means snow has to be cleared within a few days, otherwise the city will hire someone to clear it (my mom will get charged with the cost). And there's the whole money issue going on now - REALLY CANNOT AFFORD the snow removal extra charge

Why I hate them? Tomorrow's my b-day. Want the good, the bad, and the ugly? The good: The highs will be low 10s AT WARMEST - this means the snow will most likely be the light, fluffy kind The bad: Snow starts tomorrow evening, and the storm will REALLY hit starting Fri noon and last through the day Sat (meaning I can't watch my 6am Sat morning show at a friend's house until Mon on demand) The UGLY: 4-10 inches of new snow, and Sunday will be FREAKIN' FREEZING (High: -4 F equals -24 F high with windchill, and low will be -20s F; with wind, -40s F)

Snow got really bad right around 4 pm where I am in Buffalo. There was light snow falling on and off all that morning/afternoon but when i was coming back from campus around 4pm is when it started blowing and worsening to eventual white out conditions.

There was still some visibility when I took my apartment shuttle back, but when I was coming back it was still an inch or less.

Most of it hit overnight and judging from the wind blowing outside still hitting now. I know we were supposed to get around 2-4 inches overnight from what the weather forecast said.

Hmm. Depending on where the storm is tracking, I hope we Canadians don't end up with it! We have snow, but it hasn't stormed heavily. It's just really cold out--a typical Canadian winter.

I'm in Buffalo, and depending on how far you are from Buffalo on the Canadian side, since we border the Ontario province on the other side I'm assuming you're getting the same weather as us. The Lake Effect warning got taken down today, but there's a combo rain/sleet snow warning through Sunday for the Southern Tier for upstate western NY. I know Toronto seems to be getting the same weather. I'm not sure about other parts of Canada though.

The bulk of the storm, at least according to the weather service seems to be hitting the west/mid-west. East coast is getting the tail end and rain mostly.
